Communicating gratitude is always important, but especially at Thanksgiving.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Andrew P. Hill Families,

As we enter the final week before Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible partnership we share in supporting your students. Your encouragement and dedication make a significant impact on their growth and success.

I am also deeply thankful for the amazing team and staff at Andrew P. Hill. Their passion, commitment, and care create a nurturing and vibrant community for our students every day.

This week also marks the start of our winter sports matches! Please join us in cheering on our student-athletes as they showcase their hard work and team spirit.

I hope you enjoy a restful and joyful Thanksgiving break filled with time to relax and connect with loved ones. Let’s all return rejuvenated and ready to finish the semester strong!

The Story of the First Thanksgiving

Teaching Thanksgiving in a Socially Responsible Way

Teaching Thanksgiving in a Socially Responsible Way

School Thanksgiving activities often mean dressing children in "Indian" headdresses and paper feathers as they sing " My Country 'Tis of Thee" or " Mr. Turkey." Some teachers might even ask their students to draw themselves as Native Americans from the past, complete with feather-adorned headbands and buckskin clothing.

Community Advocate Teens of Today (CATT) are currently recruiting new members for the upcoming school year. CATT is a youth-led advocacy coalition working to counter pro-tobacco influences and expose tobacco industry practices. CATT’s mission is to reduce tobacco use among teens in Santa Clara County through education, advocacy, and youth engagement.

They offer community service hours in exchange for participation in our activities. This includes park cleanups, public comment at city council meetings, art and creative projects, participation in community events, planning and implantation of events, and so much more! They provide training for professional development, skill building, and frequently share community engagement opportunities to all our CATT members.
