Friday 7th August - Term 3 Week 3
Tumuaki Pānui
Kia ora koutou
What a great start to term 3 we have had. The students have all come in ready to learn and we are seeing a lot of wonderful work being completed.
This term we have our annual cross-country event and are looking to have approximately 275 students plus adults at the event. That is a lot of sausages to cook! Please take your turn on the BBQ during the day, that way everyone gets to see their children run in the event. This is a great fundraiser for the school and one of the ways we will be able to keep camp fees down in 2027.
In week 1 we had a team of year 7-8 students head off to New Plymouth for the Police Competency Test where they did very well. Next week we have students representing the school in sevens rugby and the following week in soccer. Good luck to the teams and thank you to all those who support these events with coaching or transport.
A big thank you to the team at Eltham Building Supplies for installing our gaga ball pit, this has been a great hit with our senior students and is used daily.
Have a great weekend.

Classroom Pānui
This week the three classes were combined into two due to staff sickness. We have had a full week of learning, and all students had a maths focus of time. From being able to tell basic time on a clock, through to 24-hour time and making time, distance and speed calculations depending on their curriculum outcomes.
Assembly Awards
Congratulations to all our students who received recognition for their hard work so far this term. Well done to Olive for presenting her speech on the WAKA as she works towards her Diamond Award.

Rotokare Trust Mufti Day
Next Friday 14th August we will be holding a gold coin mufti day in support of Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust. Last weekend their only work vehicle was stolen and set on fire. All money fundraised will go toward helping to fund a new vehicle as insurance doesn't cover the full replacement cost. Thank you for your support.
Running Club
This is held every Monday 2.30pm - 3.00pm for students that wish to stay at school and get in extra cross country running milage. Weather dependent.
Milk Bottle Top Challenge
Please keep bringing in milk bottle tops from home. STDC has prizes of up to $1000 for the school that collects the most.
Rear a Bull Fundraiser
This year we are again having a fundraiser in which families and community members can rear a bull calf to 100Kg (ideally Friesian or Beef) to raise money that then benefits the students of Rawhitiroa School. Please contact Amanda in the office if you are able to help. Thank you, the Home & School Committee.
