REDSKIN ROLL CALL - October 2026

REDSKIN ROLL CALL - October 2026
REDSKIN ROLL CALL- October 2026

No Tricks - Just show up ... Attendance is the treat!

We know—it’s October. There are ghosts, zombies, and things mysteriously disappearing everywhere … but you don’t need to be one of them! Being somewhere on campus is great, but unfortunately, your teachers haven’t developed the supernatural ability to teach you through walls. You actually have to be IN CLASS—and preferably before the bell rings. Showing up late means missing directions, announcements, explanations, and sometimes the one thing you needed to hear to understand the assignment. Then you get to play the truly terrifying game of “Wait … what are we doing?” So, skip the disappearing act, keep the extra-long lunch from becoming a horror story, and get yourself to class on time. The bell rings. You’re in class. Everyone survives.

THE GREAT ESCAPE: WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

We get it—sometimes you actually need a pass. Bathroom? Absolutely. Nurse? Go. Office? Yep. But when leaving class becomes a daily adventure, those “quick” trips start stealing a surprising amount of learning time. Just 5 minutes out of class every day adds up to 25 minutes a week, about 100 minutes a month, and roughly 15 HOURS over a 180-day school year! And that’s assuming your “five-minute trip” is actually five minutes. Suddenly, that leisurely stroll to the water fountain is looking a little more frightening! Every time you leave class, you risk missing directions, examples, announcements, or the exact explanation you’ll need five minutes after you return. So, this October, save the wandering halls for the ghosts. Use passes when you need them, get where you need to go, and get back to class. Your education shouldn’t disappear one bathroom pass at a time!

We Checked the Eyes & Ears—Now Let’s Protect Them!

During September, we completed hearing and vision screenings for our freshmen. Thank you to our families and students for helping us get those screenings completed! While we’re talking about hearing, here’s an important reminder for our headphone-loving teenagers: louder isn’t always better. Listening to music, videos, or games at high volumes—especially for long periods of time—can damage the sensitive structures inside the ear, and noise-induced hearing loss can be permanent. Encourage your student to turn the volume down, take listening breaks, and give those ears a rest. If you can hear their music from across the room through their headphones…well, the neighbors probably don’t need to enjoy the playlist too. Protect those ears now so they can keep enjoying their favorite music for years to come!
