Attending the National Educational Leadership Awards (NELA) conference in Washington, D.C. last week was an incredible and inspiring experience.

Throughout the conference, I connected with and learned from outstanding principals representing every state. Our conversations highlighted shared challenges across schools nationwide while also reinforcing how fortunate we are to be part of a school community with strong resources and support. While at the U.S. Capitol, I had the opportunity to connect with Senator John Boozman and arrange for a one-on-one meeting over coffee on his next visit to NWA, where I hope to share perspectives and advocate for public education.

It was truly an honor to represent Arkansas and Sonora Middle School on a national stage. Looking forward to being back in the building this week!

Design Guidelines:

• Should reflect our school culture, values, or spirit
• Can incorporate school colors, mascot, or theme
• Keep it simple enough for printing

Submission Details:

• Submit your​ digital design to Chelsea by ​May 15th
• Include any relevant details about t-shirt color, style, etc.

What happens next?

• Designs will be shared with staff for feedback/voting
• Winning design will be featured on our 2025–2026 staff shirt
