PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Springer Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and that you had time to reconnect to whatever it is that gives you joy! I had a wonderful visit from both of my daughters and my parents, which definitely gave me joy. Being back at school is also something that I enjoy and I am looking forward to some wonderful experiences between now and our winter break - because the learning never stops here at Springer.
I wanted to let everyone know we will be doing a large scale disaster drill on Wednesday, December 10 at 9 AM. In this drill we will be practicing emergency procedures, fake injuries, and check out processes. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Lastly, please mark your calendars for our next Principal Coffee on Friday, January 16 at 8:30 AM in the STEM Lab. We will be discussing Student supports, including but not limited to, IEPs, 504s, counseling, and communication.

LASD IS CURIOUS
What happens when students lead their own learning and dive deeply into a question that matters to them, and share their voices in powerful ways? Illuminate LASD is an annual event that invites students to become experts, innovators, and change-makers. TK to 8th grade students from across LASD will take the spotlight to share what they now know and can do by sharing the process and products of their learning. This event lends itself to a variety of learning experiences within the class or at home, working individually or collaboratively with their peers or with adults amongst any topic they are interested in exploring. Whether it’s researching a topic they’re passionate about, solving a problem that inspires them, or creating something to make an impact, students will share their final product and the artifacts that highlight the learning process. Students must register using the Intent to Participate Form by January 16th.
EVENT FOR THE COMMUNITY
In addition to exploring the exhibitions of learning from our LASD students, all students, families, and community members are also invited to visit interactive stations hosted by each school and LASD district programs.
When: Friday, March 27th from 4:00PM - 7:00PM
Where: Blach Intermediate School (1120 Covington Road, Los Altos CA 94024)
The event features:
LASD student exhibitions of learning
Hands on experiences for all ages designed to inspire curiosity, collaboration, and creative problem-solving
Food trucks the whole family can enjoy
We invite you to share in this experience that celebrates student curiosity, creativity, and agency! Let’s go, STINGERS! If you have any questions, visit https://tinyurl.com/illuminateLASD or email Grace Choi (gchoi@lasdschools.org).
