June Anderson has had the opportunity to visit many faraway places. She is both a world traveler and an author sharing her adventures in numerous books and through her online PowerPoint Community Ed classes. She is a former ghost tour guide and has taken part in many paranormal investigations. As well as being on familiar terms with the Anoka ghosts, she has traveled to Ireland, England, and Romania to meet some of theirs.

We’re thrilled to announce that we have received a grant from East Central Energy's Operation Roundup, allowing us to enhance our Nature Club with brand-new equipment!

Join us for an adventure in the great outdoors by exploring our Nature Club Classes or building essential skills in our Middle School Survival Class. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, try out our new equipment, and strengthen your survival skills. Classes being the week of September 17th but newcomers are welcome ANYTIME!

...but we've' got to solve the problem of finding a coach first!

Chisago Lakes Community Ed. recently received a phone call from Cheryl Whitesitt. Whitesitt is with the Minnesota Chapter of Future Problem Solvers!

• The Mission of MNFPS is "To teach a process for identifying and resolving problems in a practical, informed, and timely manner with respect to our situation today and our world tomorrow."
• Future Problem Solving is an international program first started by Dr. E. Paul Torrance in 1974.
• Through a structured six-step process, "FPS teaches students how to think, not what to think."
• By participating in FPS, students embark on a journey to sharpen their critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Developing these skills helps students improve their academic achievement and achieve future goals.
• Students tackle global issues, community projects, storytelling, visual arts, creative writing and many more categories. The program is open to grades 4-12.
• CLCE would love to provide this opportunity to our students, but we need your help. If you or anyone you might know has participated in FPS or, if you have the ability to learn, we'd love to find an advisor.
• From there, the season begins this fall. If your student is interested in joining CLFPS, stay tuned for more information.
• Forest Lake just had a former student come back and help get a new team off the ground and we're hoping we can offer this opportunity to our students through the benefit of a local coach.
