BFH Falcons View
October 26 to 30, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend! What an exciting week it was for our Falcons with students showcasing their talents and school spirit! Our Junior Boys and Girls Volleyball teams welcomed teams from across the province for our Tri-Volley Invitational, our CyberDefense team competed in its first National competition, our Senior Volleyball teams travelled to Red Deer for an Invitational tournament, our Falcons' Swim team competed in their first mini meet of their season, and our Senior Football team celebrated Senior Night against Ross Sheppard on Friday.
Another exciting week awaits as our FLI students bring some Halloween fun to our school, we begin hosting the November Diploma exams, and our volleyball teams welcome Sherwood Park's K–6 schools for the Falcon Invitational Elementary Volleyball tournament. A special highlight will be our annual 2025–2026 Academic Awards on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. We look forward to celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students and reconnecting with returning graduates as we recognize their accomplishments and contributions to our Falcon community.
With November break just two weeks away, we have reached the midpoint of our first semester, an important time for learning, growth, and academic progress. Many significant assessments and assignments are approaching, and we encourage families to stay connected with their student's teachers while supporting them as course expectations and responsibilities increase. Regular attendance remains essential as we move into the second half of the semester. Working together, we can help ensure our Falcons remain engaged, confident, and prepared to make the most of every learning opportunity to achieve success in their classes.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are always happy to connect!

Bev Facey School Council
Bev Facey's School Council meets every third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our school library. Our council is vital to our school community, and we would love to see as many parents as possible attend. This past month's meeting saw our council discuss the Alberta School Council $500 grant provided by the Alberta Government. Our council is looking for input on how to put this fund to good use. Last year they secured a successful parent's workshop on anxiety, and are looking for similar suggestions for this year. If you have an idea on how you feel the grant should be leveraged please contact the school council by their school email:

Please peruse the agenda from last meeting, and the meeting presentation via the PDF Link below the article.

Please feel free to forward this email or share the attached event poster to help promote the market and get more people excited to attend!
Every share helps us reach more families, connect with more local shoppers, and support the wonderful vendors participating in this year's market. Thank you for helping us spread the word and for being part of a community that continues to show up for one another. Together, we can make this year's Holiday Market an incredible success!
Shop Local. Give Back. Celebrate Community.
Our Holiday Market is about so much more than finding the perfect holiday gift. It is an opportunity to discover incredible local businesses, connect with our community, and make a meaningful difference for people right here in Strathcona County.
This year's market will feature a fantastic selection of vendors from the Bev Facey community and across the surrounding area, offering unique finds, handmade goods, gifts, and plenty of inspiration for your holiday shopping list.
There will also be lots to enjoy throughout the day, including:
- Santa visits to add a little extra holiday magic!
- Face painting and glitter tattoos hosted by Bev Facey's Facey Leadership Initiative students.
- Gift basket raffles with exciting prizes to be won.
- Concession and café options, along with an afternoon barbecue.
Best of all, proceeds from table rentals and raffle ticket sales will be split between the Bev Facey Leadership Initiative (FLI) and the Strathcona Christmas Bureau. Your participation helps provide meaningful leadership opportunities for our students while supporting local families during the holiday season.
A Community Event Made Possible by Our Community
Events like this are special because of the people who show up, spread the word, and choose to support their neighbours. Whether you come with your family, invite a friend, share the event with your colleagues, or make a morning of shopping local, you are helping make this tradition a success.
We encourage families, schools, community organizations, and local businesses to help us spread the word! Please feel free to share this invitation or the attached poster with your networks, post about the event, and encourage others to join us. The more people who come out to support our vendors and community initiatives, the bigger the impact we can make together.
Interested in Becoming a Vendor?
We are always excited to welcome new businesses, makers, and entrepreneurs to our Holiday Market! If you or someone you know is interested in booking a vendor space, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to Ashlyn Hodgson or Tanya Murphy for more information and to receive the vendor registration form.
