Superintendent's Update
March 28, 2025
Dear CCPS Families,
As the days grow longer and the weather warms, I am excited to announce that our spring sports season has officially begun! Our student-athletes have been training hard, and we look forward to a season filled with teamwork, dedication, and school spirit.
Two schools will be performing Willy Wonka Jr. this coming weekend. North East Middle School's performance was last night and will be tonight at 6:00 PM. Cherry Hill Middle School's performance will be tonight and tomorrow at 6:00 PM. We hope to see you there.
I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our student teachers. Your support and commitment to our students in the classroom have been invaluable. We are grateful for your contributions and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
Additionally, I am thrilled to share some fantastic news. Congratulations to Dr. Heather Handler, our Program Coordinator for Career and Technical Education, STEM, and the Apprenticeship Maryland Program, for being named the Maryland ACTE Administrator of the Year. This prestigious recognition is a testament to her hard work and dedication. Dr. Handler will move on to compete in the Northeast, United States ACTE Region I competition later this spring, and we wish her the best of luck.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Let's make this spring season memorable!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
