La Vernia has been given the privilege to join the Stand Up, Speak Out civics program. Students have formed teams and are working on an issue they have identified in our La Vernia community. Teams will compete at the La Vernia Civics Fair on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Teams will be selected to advance to the Stand Up, Speak Out San Antonio Regional Civics Fair. Winning teams could advance to the state level.
Gifted/Talented students are encouraged to participate in UIL programs. At the high school, students have opportunities to earn a GT cord through GT advisory, UIL, Academic World Quest, and community service projects.
