Holy Rosary School Derby

Our Art Exhibition and Open Day was a great success with lots of families coming in and checking out the talented artists and the awesome looking classrooms that showcased some fantastic work being produced in the classrooms. Thank you to all the staff for all that went into preparing for the event with a special shout out to Miss Collette for setting up the Art Exhibition.

We ask that all families contribute to our Christmas Hampers, with each family providing at least one non-perishable item to go into the hampers. Our Year 5/6 class are coordinating these hampers and we will provide details of how the hampers are distributed once they have been finalised. It is an important message that we share with all our students, "the importance of helping others" and our hampers will allow our students to have an opportunity to put this into action and support a family in need over the Christmas period.

Don't forget to save the date for our end of year Christmas Concert which will be on Tuesday 9th December. We will be selling food again this year and order forms will be sent out to families on Monday 24th November, please ensure orders and payment are returned as soon as possible for catering purposes. The evening will start around 5.00pm with our concert starting at 6.00pm.

Another save the date reminder for our end of year Mass and Assembly which will be held in the Church on Thursday 11th December, starting at 8.30am in the Church. The Year 6 students will have their Graduation lunch on the same day and notes have been sent home requesting details of who will be attending, we ask that Year 6 families return these notes as soon as possible for catering purposes.

Any families who would like their child/children to participate in the Sacraments in 2026 please contact Admin as soon as possible so that we can lock in dates with the Broome Diocese.

If you would like your child to participate and they have not been Baptised, please let Jenna in Admin know and we will organise contact from the Broome Diocese to allow for you to start the Sacramental process.

Our top 10 attendance students from across Years 4 to 6 were given an opportunity to go to Willie Creek Pearl Farm for a tour and then lunch at Roebuck Plains Roadhouse. We thank Mount Gibson for their ongoing support of our student attendance, the students really enjoyed the experience of Willie Creek. Thank you to Miss Madi and Miss Judith who supported the students on the day and to Cody Sibosado and Maureen O'Meara for organising this fun day.

We have finalised our 2026 school fees and due to the increase in costs we have had to increase our fees for 2026, however, we have kept the increase as low as possible. Family discounts apply and families are still able to apply for discounted fees through a concession card. Those families who pay through Centrepay will still be able to make payments in 2026.

A reminder that students from Kindy to Year 6 are expected to wear the school uniform. Uniform items can be purchased from the front office. For those families purchasing shorts/skorts from outside of school - the colour must be royal blue.

Black shorts/skorts are not an acceptable option. Pictures of the uniform are included for reference.

Students from Years 1 -6 are also required to wear closed in sports shoes or sandals with a covered toe and strap across the back. Thongs and crocs are not permitted to be worn at school.

It is essential for Health Care Card holders to complete the necessary form immediately to be eligible for the school fee discount. The school is provided with additional funding to support your child's learning programs so through keeping this up-to-date we are able to offer exciting activities like the recent Scitech incursion and resource our classrooms appropriately.

All Health care Cards MUST be current so if yours has expired please come in and provide the updated details to Miss Jenna in Admin.

Tues 9th Dec = End of Year Concert (dinner from 5pm, concert from 6.00pm)

Fri 12th Dec = Students final day of school

The School Advisory Council welcomes any families interested. Expressions of interested currently being accepted in the Admin for any family wishing to join. We are currently looking for volunteers as we do not have enough members for a quorum.
