Start Strong: Prevention Begins with Connection!

We are excited to partner with students, families, and staff to promote healthy choices, strengthen protective factors, and support student well-being throughout the year.

As substance-related trends continue to evolve, awareness and early prevention remain essential. By providing students with accurate information, practical refusal skills, trusted connections, and healthy coping strategies, we can help them make informed decisions before challenges arise.

Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and successful start to the school year!

To support these conversations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched Free Mind, a new national campaign that provides youth ages 12-17 and their parents and caregivers with resources and information about substance use, mental health, and the connection between the two (CDC, 2025).
