Fremont MS Family Newsletter
Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
We hope everyone stayed nice and cozy today during eLearning. As a reminder, the expectation is that students complete their eLearning expectations on the day it is assigned. However, it is understandable that issues may arise, which will impact the extent to which student participation is within the student’s control as to the time, pace, and means of learning. To account for unanticipated challenges that may emerge such as power outages, technology issues, oversight of learning, etc., students will have one calendar week to demonstrate evidence of attendance and complete their learning tasks. We will update attendance, following that one calendar week.
Warm Regards,
Emily Loerakker
Fremont MS Principal

8th-grade Graduation Gown Ordering - March 2nd Deadline!
It is time to prepare for the upcoming 8th-grade graduation. One important component of graduation is gowns. The gowns will be sent home prior to the ceremony with care instructions and will be yours to keep after they are worn.
Please fill out the following form with your graduate’s information. This is required by Jostens and will ensure the appropriate size is ordered for each student. We ask that this be completed by Monday, March 2.
The 8th-grade graduation ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the College of Lake County Physical Education Center. Wednesday, June 3 will also be the last day of school for all 8th-graders and will be a full day of school.
More information regarding graduation, including student speaker opportunities, admission tickets, and the 8th-grade dance will be shared in the coming weeks/months. Look at the Fremont Family Newsletter for updates. Students can also access information from the Class of 2026 Google Classroom. Update on Proposed Redwood Development in Round Lake
Fremont has been working with Village of Round Lake officials as they explore a proposal by Redwood LLC for a multi-family rental development. This project is intended to be a 138-unit apartment neighborhood on a vacant 20-acre parcel off Route 60 adjacent to Lakewood Grove. If approved, this would be the first multi-family rental property within the district’s boundaries expected to generate 23 K-8 students.
Fremont has been in ongoing discussions with Round Lake officials since initiating contact in early December. To date, the Village has been open, transparent, and collaborative. A summary of the conversations and more information can be found via our Residential Developments webpage.
We will continue to keep our community informed as further updates become available.
