Welcome Back! - September 2025
Principal's Message
Dear GTMS Families,
As the leaves continue to change and the cooler weather settles in, November gives us a special chance to pause, take stock, and appreciate the growth all around us. Our students are showing incredible progress academically, socially, and emotionally. They are taking on challenges, building connections, and truly demonstrating what it means to Respect the Paw. There is something pretty amazing about watching a middle school community evolve just like the season…one moment at a time.
Although November is a shorter month, we are certainly not slowing down. We look forward to welcoming families for our Parent-Teacher Conferences this month. Even as our children push for more independence, they still benefit deeply from family partnership and communication. Your involvement remains a key part of their success and confidence as learners. We hope to see you there and continue strengthening that home-school connection.
We will also be celebrating Veterans Day with a meaningful student-led flag display to honor those who have served our country. Teachers are continuing to support students through Tier 1 MTSS strategies designed to meet individual needs. Plus, our annual STEAM Night on Thursday, November 20 will offer a fun and inspiring evening for students and families to explore hands-on learning together.
This month brings a special spirit of gratitude. We are thankful for all you do to support your children and our school community. Your time, encouragement, and partnership help make GTMS a place where every student can learn, grow, and feel valued.
Thank you for sharing your children with us every day. We wish you a wonderful month ahead and a restful Thanksgiving break filled with joy and togetherness.
With Grizzly Pride,
Paula Junker

Pumpkin Patch Volunteers
Our GROW, STEP, Drama, and Multicultural students had an awesome opportunity to visit the Pumpkin Patches at Reeds Road and Roland Rogers Elementary Schools. They jumped right in to help the preschool and kindergarten students enjoy a fall-tastic day filled with smiles and pumpkins. GTMS is so proud of their leadership and the positive impact they make in our school community!

November might be a short month, but every day matters. Starting Monday, we’re kicking off 13 Days of Showing Up because Grizzlies don’t fly south... we show up!
Let’s make these days count by being present, learning strong, and supporting one another. We are thankful for our students and the commitment they bring to GTMS every single day.
🦃 ✅ Don’t be a turkey… be here!
🏆 Attendance points, shout-outs, and some surprises along the way!

📅 Stay on Track — Schedule Smart!
A quick checkup shouldn’t mean missing a whole day, Grizzlies! 🐾
Try to book your doctor, dentist, or orthodontist appointments early in the morning or later in the afternoon so you can still make it to school and keep your attendance streak strong! 💪
Appointments come and go, but your education sticks. 📘✨
Let’s keep showing up, staying involved, and respecting the paw every day! 💜🧡

Harassments, Intimidation & Bullying (HIB)
It is imperative that we continue to teach our students the effects that bullying has on others and a community. Every student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment, free from fear and harassment. Any instance of bullying should be promptly reported to the administration or staff member, who will take immediate and appropriate action to address the situation. By fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect, we can create a school community where all students feel valued and accepted.
