Hello Potomac Family,

I am happy to report that we had an amazing first week back to school, including a successful Back to School Night! Thank you to all of the families who came out to meet our incredible teachers and learn more about our school community. Your partnership and support are essential to our students' success, and we truly appreciate your involvement.

Throughout the week, our teachers focused on building meaningful relationships with students, establishing classroom expectations, and reinforcing what it means to be a Panther. Our motto, Pursue. Persist. Prevail., was woven throughout classroom discussions and activities. I encourage you to take a few moments to ask your student what these words mean to them and what goals they have set for themselves this school year.

Over the summer, we added two portable classrooms to our campus to accommodate our growing student population. I want to assure our families and community that specific safety protocols are in place to ensure the well-being of all students and staff.

Each day, all students enter the building through our EVOLV security screening system. When it is time to transition to class, students assigned to the portable classrooms exit through the school door closest to those classrooms. This movement is monitored by teachers, and both administrators and security staff are present before and after school to provide additional supervision and support. The portable classroom doors remain secured at all times and are equipped with landline telephones, emergency call buttons, and access to all school announcements through the PA system. Our students have already adjusted very well to these new routines.

I am excited about the opportunities ahead this school year and look forward to sharing updates, celebrations, and important information with you. To help keep our families informed, I will be sending a school newsletter twice each month.

As a reminder, we have a short week ahead as we celebrate Labor Day. Prince William County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, September 4 and Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Thank you for your continued support of Potomac High School. Together, we will make this an outstanding year for our students.

Panther Pride!
Pursue. Persist. Prevail.

Warm regards,
