Back-to-School Reminders for Parents
As we begin the new school year, we encourage families to have conversations with their children about making safe and responsible choices. A few important reminders:
- Words matter. Threats made in person, through text messages, social media, gaming platforms, or other electronic communication are taken seriously and may result in school discipline and/or criminal investigation.
- Think before you post. Digital messages and social media activity can often be recovered, even if deleted, and may be used as evidence during an investigation.
- Know the law. In Texas, children 10 years of age and older may be referred to the juvenile justice system for criminal offenses.
- Law enforcement investigations. If the Frisco Police Department is investigating a potential crime, Texas law does not require a parent or guardian to be present before officers speak with a juvenile. Depending on the circumstances, officers may question a student as part of their investigation.
- Criminal charges. If law enforcement establishes probable cause that a criminal offense has occurred, a student may face juvenile or criminal charges. This includes conduct on campus, off campus, online, and driving-related offenses on or around school property.
- See something, say something. Encourage your child to report safety concerns to a trusted adult, school administrator, or law enforcement.
Our goal is to educate, not to alarm. By working together and having open conversations at home, we can help students understand that their words, choices, and actions have real consequences while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for everyone.

Student Expectations
Please review the Parent/Student handbook prior to the first day of school. HERE is the UPDATED link. You can access information regarding attendance, uniform expectations, technology, student code of conduct, and so much more.
We will NOT have additional clothing on hand for students to change into during the school day if needed. Parents, you will need to ensure your student is in dress code everyday as well as provide additional items for students or you will be called to drop off items or pick up your student.
The First Day of School!
The first day of school will be on August 12th. The instructional day begins at 7:30am. Only kindergarten families will be allowed to walk their students to class on the first day, This is only allowed for the first day of school. This will include immediate family and not extended family members. Kinder students being walked in with parents will enter AND exit door 7. Doors will open at 7:10 am and all families need to be out of the building no later than 7:30am to begin the school day. All other students in grades 1st - 5th, dropped off between 7:10 - 7:20 will remain in the gym until the teachers walk them to their classrooms. This includes 1st - 5th grade siblings of Kinder students.
All Kinder through 1st grade students are required to return the bags provided at Meet the Teacher night with an additional set of clothes in case of an emergency. We recommend that 2nd students also pack an additional set of clothes to proactively plan in case of emergencies.
The Second Day of School and Beyond!
Our doors open for drop off at 7:10 am each day in the gym, students K-5. All students will enter the building through the gym doors on the south side of the building only. Students will follow their regular schedule each day. Dismissal is at 3:55 pm everyday. Please see more information below regarding our new process for dismissal with PikMyKid as we are diligently working to streamline our process.
New Dismissal App for Parents!
We will be using a new app this year for dismissal called Pikmykid. Below is a video and the parents information guide. We hope that this will be an easy transition and help with the dismissal process. Please review prior to the first day of school for a smooth transition. We truly believe this will make our process more safe and more smooth moving forward. See map below.
Parents, DO NOT EVER park and leave your car in the carpool lane during arrival or dismissal times. If you need to park your car and get out, you MUST be in a designated parking spot. Parking in the carpool lane delays the entire process and the purpose of carpool lanes.

Lunches, snacks, and water bottles
Lunches
Students are encouraged to bring their lunch but in the event that packing a lunch is not desired, Lunch Link is already open for ordering. This will be the catering service that will deliver lunches to LPS for your child. The website to order is wholesomefoodservices.com. Delivery for Lunch Link is Tuesday and Wednesday only. Monday and Friday will have deliveries but is through LPS. More information will be coming soon!
Water Bottles
To help maintain a safe and clean learning environment, all students need a spill-proof water bottle each day. This helps prevent spills that can create safety hazards and disrupt instruction.
Snacks
Students may bring a healthy, dry, and easy-to-eat snack for designated snack times. Choosing simple, mess-free snacks helps students quickly refuel while minimizing distractions and keeping our classrooms clean. Snack items should be easy to open by the student and not include utensils or preparation. We also prefer to avoid peanut products in the classrooms as well.
Some snack suggestions include: protein bars, dried fruit, goldfish, etc.
After School Care
If you are unable to pick up your child by 3:55 p.m., we encourage you to enroll in our after-school care program. Our teachers and staff dedicate long hours each day to supporting student learning and are not able to provide supervision beyond the end of the instructional day. Enrolling in after-school care helps ensure your child is safely supervised while also allowing our staff to conclude their workday as scheduled. We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and efficient dismissal process.
