Dear Rocket Families,
This past week at the school house was a busy and FUN one!!! All of our Rutherfordton Elementary Rockets were blessed to be nominated by one of our staff members, 3rd grade teacher Pam Hodge, to receive Battle Pups this past week! These pups were given to bring hope, calmness, safety in the face of fear and love as we continue to navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We are so grateful for the non-profit organization, Way to Battle, for the incredible Battle Pup gifts to each of our students in grades Pre-K - 5th Grade.
Students were also entertained on Wednesday with an assembly called Magic in the Library - this assembly used magic to engage children and stress the importance and love of READING!!! Students also learned a few magic tricks of their own! Special thanks to our media coordinator, Ms. Blakeney Oliver, for organizing this event.
We have SEVERAL important items for this week so PLEASE READ and REVIEW CAREFULLY:
- On Thursday, classrooms will have their FALL party and students may dress up in costumes. NO MASKS are allowed :-) We thank you for sending in items requested by your child's teacher!
- On Friday, we will have our Fall Picture Make-Up Day. Please see details below on how to place any orders.
- We will have our Thanksgiving Luncheon on Wednesday, November 13. The cost of an adult meal is $5.00. Unfortunately, due to several factors, we need to know an exact number of attendees by next Monday, November 4. Payment is also due at that time. We will issue tickets to attendees this year. We will NOT be able to add any participants after Monday, November 4. We appreciate your understanding. Please note that NO OUTSIDE FOOD is allowed on this day. If you wish to bring lunch from an outside vendor for your student please do so on another day.
- We have 6 Weeks left in our 50/50 Raffle. Currently our pot is just $2210. PLEASE help us sale tickets!!!!
