School Board Members Appreciation Day is Today!
November is National Native American Heritage Month
November is designated as National Native American Heritage Month. This observance commemorates the history, heritage, and culture of Native Americans and Alaskan Natives. It is during this month we acknowledge the vast achievements of America’s original indigenous people.
Last week some great book titles were shared. There is also a collection of short videos from PBS Kids that celebrate native American Heritage. Check them out below.
Veterans Day Observance
We had a wonderful Veterans Day ceremony with our students. We want to thank our families for sending in their photos of their loved ones for our Wall of Heroes and for the Veterans that attended our ceremony. Thank you for your service and for being a part of our celebration.
District Food Drive 2024
It's a Woodland tradition! This time of year we begin preparations for the Annual Food Drive. Over the previous years, we have been able to serve our Woodland families by providing additional support during the holiday season. With the generous donations from our staff, students and their families, we set up a Woodland Food Pantry with the hopes that everyone can enjoy this special time of year.
Ways to Participate
If you are interested in participating, there are many different ways you can help! From donating food, to volunteering, to signing up to receive food for yourself or for others, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Food Donations
One option to support the Annual Food Drive is to bring in non-perishable food donations to school, or drop off at the district office. Please follow these guides to help us make sure that there is a wide variety of items available for recipients.
Financial Donations
Another way to show your support is to donate funds through the district website. Your donation will go toward purchasing food and other needed items for Woodland families. In past years, Woodland has been able to provide a gift card to families to purchase fresh food items to supplement the non-perishable items that are available from the food drive.
We are accepting food and financial donations now through December 2, 2024.
Receive Donations
If you are interested in receiving food, Woodland families are invited to self-register. Or you can nominate a deserving family who may need support this time of year.
