Woodlands Impact Center--Sneak Peek
The Woodlands Impact Center will serve over 500 youth daily from Districts 220 and 300, expanding opportunities for both middle and high school members. The building will be divided into a Middle School Wing and a High School Wing, each designed to support age-specific programs, with additional shared and rental spaces to enhance collaboration and community access. Members will engage in core areas like Career Essentials, Character & Leadership, Health, Finance & Life Skills, Arts & Recreation, and Computer Science & Technology. This capacity breakdown allows Boys & Girls Clubs to increase access to enrichment, tutoring, and mentoring while preparing teens for the workforce through practical learning and college partnerships.
The center’s mission extends beyond academics; it’s about building self-confidence, resilience, and determination while bridging the communities of Carpentersville and Barrington. Through partnerships with Harper College, McHenry College, Elgin Community College, and local employers, members will gain access to workforce readiness pathways in healthcare, food service, construction, and essential technical careers. Core programs will focus on Career Essential Skills, Character and Leadership Development, Health and Financial Literacy, Arts and Recreation, and Computer Science.
In addition to youth programming, the Woodlands Impact Center will serve as a true community hub offering resources such as counseling services, ESL and parenting classes, a food and clothing bank, and senior wellness activities. By integrating education, workforce readiness, and family support, this facility reflects BGCNWS’s ongoing commitment to collaboration and impact.

We will have a rack full of winter coats available for students and adults outside our building. If you see a jacket you love, take it! If you want to leave a jacket, leave it!
It's like our lending library but for coats. Love it or leave it!
💡 Parent Moves: Choosing Gratitude💡
Choosing Gratitude
Our Character Strong focus for November is Gratitude
This month students will be practicing gratitude! They will be working on gratitude postcards to peers or family members that they are grateful for. We will celebrate our practice of gratitude by having a gratitude bingo the day before Thanksgiving break. You can practice gratitude at home with your children using the resources in the newsletter.
