Major's Minute
Most every night, Celestine and I prayer together before we go to sleep. Sometimes prayers are delayed or forgotten when we're too sleepy or when we've just had a disagreement. 😇 But, since he's lost his voice, he's had to whisper in order for me to hear. In order to understand, I really have to concentrate, get closer, and really focus on him. It literally brings us closer.
This makes me think of a chorus that my late grandpa used to sing, "Whisper a prayer in the morning. Whisper a prayer at noon. Whisper a prayer in the evening to keep your heart in tune."
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever * we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15

The theme for last year’s congress, Testify, was designed to encourage each one of us to tell more people about Jesus, more often. The most effective way of sharing about Jesus is to tell your own story. Over the next 20 weeks we will be sharing with you a short “testimony” video from the leadership team of the Territory, and our cadets who will be commissioned as officers this year.
Feel free to share these with others as encouragement, and share your own story. (If you are not sure what your story is, or are searching for the answers to your spiritual questions please talk to any officer)
We start the series with Colonel Genevera Vincent:

Happy New Year! We are thinking and praying for you and your corps ministries. We are excited to introduce GROW – a brand-new digital learning series designed to help corps members and officers Mature, Equip, Improve, and Expand their spiritual lives in becoming effective disciple of Jesus Christ. As online training continues to grow in effectiveness and accessibility, GROW offers an opportunity to participate in impactful learning from the comfort of home.
Why GROW?
- Convenient & Effective: Online/Live training can be just as powerful as face-to-face sessions, with added flexibility and reduced costs for everyone involved.
- Relevant Topics: In 2025, GROW will focus on key areas essential to church growth and spiritual development, including:
- Evangelism
- Discipleship
- Local Lay Leadership
We will have different sessions focusing on training for Corps Members, Local Officers and Officers, and Ministry leaders. Each digital training will include 3 to 8 weekly sessions, depending on the topic. Participants may have to pay a fee per course (if needed), covering the cost of training, handouts, and supplementary learning materials.
The first course of five sessions will take place from March 6 to April 10, 2025. It will be held every Thursday at 6:30 pm (PT). There will be no fees for this class. This session, led by Lt. Colonels Phil and Debbie Lum and is offered only for Corps Members (Soldiers, Adherents, Attendees) at this time. The course will also incorporate the Pray and Go book as part of the Lifestyle Evangelism course.
