Southwest School Corporation is once again rallying the community to support local students through its annual Stuff the Bus event! On Monday, July 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a yellow school bus will be parked outside the Sullivan Walmart to collect donations of school supplies for students in need.

This event provides an easy and impactful way for community members to help students start the school year prepared and confident. Whether you're picking up groceries or out running errands, we invite you to stop by and contribute items such as:

• Backpacks

• Notebooks

• Pencils and pens

• Crayons and markers

• Folders and binders

• Glue sticks and scissors

• Tissues and hand sanitizer

All collected supplies will be distributed to Southwest students across the district to ensure every child has what they need to succeed from day one.

As we gear up for a great school year, the Southwest School Corporation has released the official 2025–2026 School Supply Lists for all students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. These lists are designed to ensure students are prepared and equipped with the tools they need to succeed from day one.

Each list was created in collaboration with teachers to reflect the specific needs of each grade level. From crayons and glue sticks in Kindergarten to calculators and composition notebooks in Middle School, the items help support classroom learning and organization.

Southwest School Corporation is currently seeking qualified and passionate individuals to join its team for the 2025–2026 school year. A range of positions are available across Sullivan Middle School and Carlisle Elementary & Middle School, offering exciting opportunities for educators and support staff to make a difference in students' lives.

Sullivan Middle School is looking to fill two key roles:

• Boys & Girls Cross Country Coach for the upcoming fall athletic season

• Intervention & Enrichment Teacher, with a focus on reading, language arts, and mathematics, beginning August 5

Carlisle Elementary & Middle School is hiring for:

• Athletic Director to oversee and support student athletic programs during the 2025–26 school year

• ECA Treasurer, with responsibilities beginning July 28

• All student athletes must have completed Final Forms to participate in athletics. Click on this link for directions on how to complete this process.

• Sullivan Elementary School kindergarten students will only attend 1/2 day on August 7th, 8th, and 11th. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:30am on these 3 days. Parents/Guardians should have received an email regarding transportation for these 3 days. If you have not received an email or have not responded please contact Mrs. Wegner at awegner@swest.k12.in.us ASAP.

• Pick up procedures for SES will be changing this year. Please watch the SES Facebook page and check your email for more details in the upcoming weeks.

• Nutrislice is our Sodexo Food Service's digital solution for menu and nutrition needs. Nutrislice allows parents and students to access menus, ingredients, and allergens for all items served in their school cafeteria on a weekly basis through the web or app platforms.
