From the Superintendent From the Superintendent

Dear Lincolnwood Learning Community:

As we close this chapter of the 2025-2026 school year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a joyful and restorative winter break. This season invites us to pause, reflect on all we have accomplished together, and look ahead with optimism to the opportunities a new year brings. May the coming weeks offer you the time and space to step away from daily routines, reconnect with cherished traditions, and create meaningful moments that celebrate the milestones of your family.

Throughout these first months of the school year, we have focused on aspects of our Vision Statement, which includes both instructional and classroom culture and climate elements. Core practices within these goal areas included implementation of new instructional materials in literacy and math, along with the necessary professional development to assist our staff with introducing concepts to students. Additionally, we prioritize building foundational relationships with students to ensure they feel connected and valued in their classrooms.

We hope these collective efforts have resulted in a tremendous amount of academic and interpersonal growth thus far in the school year. From my perspective, it has been amazing to witness what our students have been able to produce in their writing, their thinking, and their creative endeavors. Great things await them in 2026!

Each family is reminded that Friday, December 19, is a half day of AM-only student attendance. The winter break is December 22 through January 2, and classes resume on January 5, 2026.

Happy New Year to you and your family. Enjoy your break, rest and rejuvenate, and we will see you in 2026!

In Educational Partnership,

David L. Russo, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools
