As we approach Winter Break, it's hard to believe that half of the school year is already behind us. December is always a season of reflection, celebration and gratitude~ we have so much to be proud of at HMS! Enjoy all the photos attached of just some of the wonderful things over the last two months.
We have completed the mid-year NWEA Reading, Language and Mathematics Benchmark Assessment. Our staff is currently reviewing growth data to celebrate student progress and plan targeted supports and interventions. We will take our final assessments before spring break.
We have celebrated our students by positive office referrals, weekly BUZZ BUCK drawings and an award ceremony recognizing students who displayed our guiding beliefs of Honesty (October) and Openness (November). December recognitions are coming in for students displaying Respect.
Our last day of school is Friday, December 19th and our first day back is January 5th. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest, read for enjoyment, stay active and connected and spend quality time with family and friends. We are deeply grateful for the partnership we share with our families. On behalf of our entire middle school staff, we wish you a peaceful, joyful, safe and restful winter break. We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year refreshed and ready for continued growth.
