ARH Updates

Parents, this week’s newsletter is a little longer than usual, but it is packed with important information, so please read carefully. Consider it your homework for the week. The good news? There’s no quiz at the end!

It has been a great first two weeks of school! With each passing week, our students are becoming more settled into their routines, classes, and day-to-day life on campus. And what better way to close out another great week than with a Patriot football WIN on Friday night! Our Patriots gave us plenty to cheer about, and the energy and school spirit throughout the evening made the victory even sweeter. Congratulations to our players and coaches on an amazing win and a great start to the season. We are already looking forward to the next one! Go Patriots!

Curriculum Night – Tomorrow, August 24 | 6:00–8:00 PM

Tomorrow night, parents are going back to school! Our doors will open to families at 6:00 p.m. for Curriculum Night. This is your opportunity to step into your student’s shoes, visit their classrooms, meet their teachers, and learn more about the courses, expectations, resources, and opportunities available throughout the year.

As you make your way through campus, we will have school maps available, a few booths for you to visit in Allegiance Alley, and plenty of Patriot gear available for purchase.

Before arriving, please take a moment to review your child’s schedule in FOCUS/Parent Portal. Parents, this is where your homework begins! Make sure the schedule you are reviewing includes room numbers. If it does not, double-check with your student before heading to school. We will have plenty of people available to help point you in the right direction, but a little preparation ahead of time will make getting from class to class much easier. After all, you only have a few minutes between bells, and tardies still count... at least for parents tomorrow night!

Once the bell rings, it is time to get to class. Take the evening to walk our halls, learn about each of your student’s courses, and experience a little bit of life as a Patriot. And remember: don’t be late to class!

We are excited to welcome our families and hope you enjoy spending the evening in your student’s shoes.

After School Pick Up Expectations

Parents, just a friendly reminder that our school day ends at 2:05 p.m. As a closed campus, students are expected to leave campus promptly at the end of the school day unless they are participating in a scheduled and supervised after-school activity. Please remember that general student supervision is not available after school hours.

Students may not remain on campus waiting for practices, rehearsals, or other activities that begin later in the afternoon unless they are under the direct supervision of a coach, sponsor, or staff member. If an activity begins later, students will need to leave campus at dismissal and return at the appropriate time.

Additionally, students who are dual enrolled or eligible seniors who have an NC Study Hall should not remain on campus during those periods. These are designated off-campus periods, and students are expected to leave campus during that time.

Thank you for helping us ensure our campus remains safe and that students are appropriately supervised throughout the day.

Parent Pickup and Drop-Off

Parent pickup and drop-off are never perfect at any school, so we ask for your patience and cooperation in following our established traffic patterns. Please do not drop students off in the student parking lot, as this compromises student safety.

During afternoon pickup, please utilize the designated parent pickup line and pull all the way forward. This helps keep the line moving efficiently and, most importantly, helps keep our entire Patriot family safe.

Remember, many of our students are current or future drivers, and they are watching and learning from the adults around them. Let’s model the same safe driving habits and respect for traffic patterns that we expect from them.

ID Badge Tip

Help your student establish a routine for remembering their ID badge each day. Encourage them to keep it in their backpack, car, or another consistent location where it will be easy to remember each morning.

Our Patriots have been doing a great job with their IDs so far, and we want to keep that momentum going! A simple routine can make all the difference in helping them stay consistent all day, every day.
