- 1st-5th Grade New Student Orientation: 9:00 AM - Please bring scholars that are brand new to our school, so they can see the campus and learn a bit more about The Dragons!
Tuesday, August 22
- TK & Kindergarten Orientation: 3:00 PM - Enter through Gate 8 - Please bring your little scholars
- Back to School Social: 3:30-5:30 PM - Teacher/Class Assignments will be distributed (more details below)
Wednesday, August 23 - First Day of School!
- School Day Begins: 8:13 (first bell); 8:15 (instruction begins)
- Bell Schedule, with recess and lunch times **New recess and lunch times**

- School Site Council Meeting (SSC): 3:00 - Learn more about what's happening at STARS, school goals and budgets, and hear reports from the District Advisory Councils (DACs) (more info TBA)

- Holiday: Labor Day (No School)

- Back to School Night & PTA General Association Meeting, 5:30PM (more info TBA)

Annual Updates
Every year families must complete the Annual Updates for all enrolled students, before the first day of instruction. You received an email from CVUSD on 8/2/2023. We have included the instructions below for your convenience:

Updates include email/phone/address changes, who we should contact in an emergency, and other information that will help us best serve your scholar!
Meals Application
We are also asking that every family complete the free/reduced price meal program application, regardless of whether your child plans to eat school lunches. The confidential information you provide, ensures the schools receive maximum funding.

STARS Academy Uniform and Dress Code - Dress for Success!
We believe that a high standard of dress permits students to focus on academics and their role as scholars. We believe that our school uniforms contribute to a safe, respectful and positive learning environment. Please make sure your scholar is ready to dress for success in their uniform polo every day.
The Basics for Monday-Thursday:
- Sapphire or Royal Blue or Gray collared polos on top
- Solid colored bottoms - black, dark gray or dark blue denim pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, or leggings.
- Athletic/sport-type, closed-toe shoes that allow students to walk, run, and play with ease.
Spirit wear Fridays:
- Special spirit wear shirts will be available to order soon, through the PTA!
- Scholars may wear any past or present Ladera STARS spirit shirts or past jog-a-thon shirts on Fridays only.
- Regular school polos may always be worn, instead of spirit shirts.
Please visit the Eastwind Screenprint Online Store to order polo uniform shirts and hoodies for the new school year. You can also visit their shop in person at 996 Lawrence Dr. Suite 106, Newbury Park.

We invite every parent, student, and teacher to join our Ladera STARS Academy PTA to help support our awesome school!
Our PTA hosts and/or funds many school events throughout the year, as well as helps fund essential programs and specialist teachers like art, computers, P.E., & more!
We want you to know there is no one way to support our school PTA. Many invest by joining only. In fact, it takes just $10 per membership to join our Ladera STARS Academy PTA for the year! That’s it! Volunteering and going to meetings are appreciated but not required.

Follow the prompts to register for a membership toolkit account or login if you already have an account. You must have an account in order to be able to purchase anything PTA related online.
Once you have an account, go to “PTA Store & Online Forms” and fill in your family/student info. You must do this before any forms will appear for you to be able to purchase.
Click on the PTA order form packet and go through each page for what items you want to purchase including PTA membership. Don’t want something? Skip that page. Once done click on checkout and follow the prompts to complete your purchase!
**PTA membership is valid for only 1 year,
so if you joined last year you have to join this year to stay current! **
