Principal's Message
Good morning Horizons Community! I hope that you are enjoying your spring break! Congratulations to our March graduates! There were a total of 28 students who completed their graduation requirements! Welcome to our new students! On Monday you will pick up your printed schedule as you enter the building. You will then proceed to the library to the library to pick up your computer.
The school year is moving by quickly. When we return to school on Monday, there will be approximately 8 weeks of school left for our May graduates and approximately 9 weeks left for our returning students! It is important that students are in all of their classes on a daily basis until the end of the school year. Being in class gives our students the best chance at academic success. Graduation is our goal for all of our students, to achieve this goal, students must be in school daily. Thank you for your support of our student success!

Ramadan Mubarak - Ramadan Begins February 28-March 30
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, is one of the most sacred times for Muslims. It is the month in which it is believed that the Holy Qur'an was sent down from heaven "as a guidance for men and women, a declaration of direction, and a means of salvation."
During this month, Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn until sunset. They are not allowed to eat or drink (even water) during daylight hours. Fasting is a private act of worship bringing about nearness to God, as well as a form of spiritual discipline and a means to empathize with those less fortunate. The fast is broken at the end of the day with prayer and a festive meal called an iftar. It is customary to visit family and friends following the iftar.
