November 2026 NEWSLETTER
Hello Peakview Families!
As we head into November, I want to take a moment to thank our incredible Lynx community for the support and engagement we have seen over the past month!
From the amazing support of our Lynx Laps fundraiser to the incredible turnout at Trunk or Treat and our classroom fall parties, it has been so fun to see our families showing up for our school and our students. Whether you are volunteering, participating in school events, supporting learning at home, or simply staying connected with what is happening at Peakview, please know how much we appreciate you. Building a strong school community takes all of us, and I am grateful for the partnership we are continuing to build!
As we move into November, there are a few things to keep on your radar. Picture Retake Day is November 5, and our middle level boys basketball season is underway! We hope to see our Lynx families cheering on our student athletes throughout the month. We also have our Thanksgiving Break beginning November 23, which will give everyone a chance to enjoy some well deserved time with family and friends.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to share how thankful I am to be part of this school community. Every day, I see staff working hard for kids, students growing and learning, and families showing up to support our school. There is a lot to celebrate at Peakview, and I am excited about the work we are doing together.
Thank you for being part of our Lynx family and for continuing to make Peakview a place where #AllMeansAll!
With gratitude,
Colleen Dodge

Your child’s device will serve as their digital learning tool throughout their time in the Thompson School District. Each year the device will transition with them to the next grade level and will be replaced when they move to middle or high school.

TSD Personal Technology Device Policy - Still Away For The Day at PVA
TSD Student Use of Cell Phones and Other Personal Technology Devices
PVA Away For The Day Motto
Thompson School District’s cell phone and personal technology device policy is designed to foster a supportive educational environment with fewer distractions for students. In general, once students enter a school building, their personal technology devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, cameras, and similar devices—must be put away and inaccessible unless a specific exception applies. Students at every grade level may only use personal devices when a teacher specifically authorizes them for instructional purposes or when required by an IEP, Section 504 Plan, medical need or emergency.
Elementary and Middle Schools
Students are generally not allowed to use personal devices at any point during the school day while on campus, including before school, passing periods, lunch, and after school.
High Schools
Students may use their devices before and after school and during lunch, subject to school-specific rules. However, they may not use them in hallways during passing periods.
More Engagement. Fewer Distractions.
Through this policy, district students will engage in an environment that is best suited to maximize learning and support. Benefits include:
Improved student learning and academic performance
A safer, more focused learning environment
Improved student well-being and social interaction
More information is located on the district’s Cell Phone and Personal Device Policy webpage. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s front desk.
Thank you for your support and partnership.
School Meals
For the 2026-2027 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to free meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program. This program ensures enrolled students are provided free breakfast and lunch, regardless of family income.
Although all students will receive access to free meals, it’s still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, etc. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support. ***All household income information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent.***
The attachments contain more information on the application, and instructions for applying. While the following pages may reference eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals, access to breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students regardless of household income.
We provide meals that meet or exceed the US Department of Agriculture nutrition standards and Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This year we are also increasing our items from local farmers and producers. You can be confident your children are getting quality meals while saving your family time and money.
Use the link below to apply online, or you may pick up a paper application at any TSD school or the Support Services Center and return or mail it to 2890 North Monroe Avenue Loveland, CO 80538.

Do you qualify for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits?
ALL families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.
Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.
Middle Level Exploration Class Fees
These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.
Middle Level Athletic Fees
The Athletic fee helps to support referees, transportation, equipment and uniforms.
Tech4All Damage/Loss Fine
If a student's device gets lost or damaged and turned in for repair, any costs incurred will be charged to the student’s account.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook
Within our short time so far as a school, we have worked hard to develop systems, structures, procedures, and policies that will support our school in being the best that it can be to achieve its vision and mission. As we have developed the systems, structures, procedures, and policies, we have created a PVA Student & Family Handbook. Please review the handbook as necessary.
