Message from the Principal
The highlight of the week was our House Rules Convention. As a school we combined a BARR U-Time activity and a Responsive Classroom activity to create classroom “house rules.” Then grade level representatives were chosen to meet with me in a School Convention to create school “house rules.” We had a mini civics lesson and discussed how through our school community we were coming together to create a constitution of sorts. The students took it very seriously and we signed it like the constitution when we were done! We’ll be presenting it to the school next week through a video!
This connects to our Hopes & Dreams text this year, Collaboration Station. Our school “House Rules” will help us reach our hopes and dreams and we strive to work together in a collaborative community.
I am so proud of all the work our community has put into creating common expectations.
Enjoy the beautiful weather!
