A Note from Mrs. Solomon and Mrs. Salto A Note from Mrs. Solomon and Mrs. Salto

Welcome back! Hope everyone enjoyed their spring break! So many wonderful things ahead to complete our 2025-2026 school year: learning, concerts, field trips, assemblies, Wild Rose Camp Night, Rose-a-Palooza and celebrations.

There will be more information to come, but save the date for our volunteers for the volunteer breakfast on Tuesday, May 12th. Also save the date for incoming kindergarten families. We will be having a welcome day for parents and their incoming kindergarten student on May 14th. A sign-up and more information will be sent next week.

Hopefully the spring weather is going to be more consistent. We are looking forward to all of the fun and learning ahead to finish the year strong!

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

Medication whether prescription or over the counter can not be administered at school without a medication form completed by your child's physician. Please do not send medication in your child's lunchbox or backpack. The medication needs to be dropped off by an adult in the office in its original packaging with the doctor's order.

D303 Attendance Procedures Update

District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.

Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.

NEW VACATION POLICY:

  • The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use

  • Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences

  • This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students

We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.

Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
