A Message from Principal Meaux
Dear Parents,
On Friday, we surprised our students with a BMX show to kick off Red Ribbon Week, and while the performers were incredible, I have to brag about our audience! We had our entire campus—all 900+ students—together in the parking lot, and I could not have been more proud. They were completely captivated by the performers, enthusiastic, respectful, and thoughtful enough to stay seated so everyone behind them could see.
In more than 25 years in education, I can honestly say this was the best student audience I have ever seen. Watching our students enjoy something so exciting while showing such consideration for one another was an enormous proud principal moment!
A huge thank-you to our counselor, Ms. Modique, for her work to bring this group to Austin, and to our PTO for funding this amazing show for our students. We are so grateful for the people who make these special experiences possible!
Moms and dads, you are doing something right, and it shows. Thank you for raising children who give us so much to be proud of. The BMX performers brought the excitement, but our students made my day!
Drug Free Week
October 26–30 is Drug-Free Week at Austin Elementary!
Join us for a week of fun spirit days as we celebrate making healthy choices and staying drug-free!
We can't wait to see our Cubs show their school spirit!
Storybook Parade Friday, Oct. 30
We’re keeping our outdoor parade route! Last year, it allowed so many family members to join us and see our students. Feel free to bring lawn chairs! The parade will begin inside at 9:30 a.m. It will take several minutes for students to reach the parent viewing areas, so thank you for your patience!
We encourage students to stay and finish the school day with their classmates—and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Festival after school! With so many families attending, checking students out takes extra time. If you choose to check your child out, please plan for long lines and an extended wait at the front office. Checkout cannot begin until the parade has ended and all students are back in their classrooms.
Thank you for helping us make this a fun, smooth day for everyone!
Fall Festival
Join us this Friday, October 30, for our Austin Elementary Fall Festival! 🍂🎃 Bring the whole family for an evening filled with fun games, delicious food, and fall festivities. We can't wait to see you there!
📸 Picture Day Is Coming to Austin Elementary!
Calling All Austin Super Cubs!
Our Super Cubs Attendance Challenge is starting! Help your child's class become Attendance Champions by making sure they come to school every day and on time!
The winning class will receive a BIG Attendance Trophy to proudly show off to the entire school!
But here's the twist! Classes will compete every two weeks, which means another class could STEAL the trophy and become the new champions!
Don't let another class take your trophy! Let's work together, aim for 95% attendance, and show everyone which class has the best attendance at Austin Elementary!
Attention 4th Grade Families:
4th Grade Veterans Day Program request for pictures!
We invite our school community to help us honor the veterans and active-duty military members connected to our staff and families. We would love to include photos of family members, past or present, who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces of our fourth grade students. These photos will be featured in a special slideshow or display to help our fourth graders recognize and celebrate the personal connections we share with those who serve our country.
If you would like to participate, please submit a digital photo by email to Nyamada@conroeisd.net or Osaldierna@conroeisd.net . Or drop off a physical photo with your student before November 6. We will make a copy of any physical photos and send it back home with the student. If available, please include the individual’s name, their relationship to you, branch of service, rank, years and location of service, or any fun facts or special memories you’d like to share. Please label physical photos with your name so they can be safely returned. Thank you for helping us make this program meaningful for our students and school community!
Spring GT Testing Referral Window Opens October 1st
Parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators can refer any student for GT testing. Campus GT Facilitators are collecting referral forms from October 1–December 18, 2026. GT testing will occur on individual campuses between January 19–February 5, 2027, with testing results returned in spring 2027.
Lunch Visitors
We love welcoming parents to have lunch with their children! Because space is limited, please use the SignUpGenius link below to schedule your visit. Your child will join you at our family table, but other students may not join you. This helps us keep everyone safe while still making room for families to enjoy this special time together. We look forward to seeing you!
