A Message from Dr. Sanchez A Message from Dr. Sanchez

Dear PMSA Community,

As we begin the month of May, I would like to take a moment to recognize two important observances that hold deep meaning for our school community.

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. This month provides an opportunity for reflection, learning, and appreciation of the diverse perspectives that strengthen our community. At PMSA, we are proud of the many ways our AAPI students, families, and staff contribute to the vibrancy and success of our school.

We are excited to share that we kicked off the month with a wonderful AAPI assembly for our parents and community members. On May 1, we will continue the celebration with assemblies for our students. We look forward to continuing to highlight and celebrate AAPI voices, experiences, and contributions throughout the month while fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and belonging.

Mental Health Awareness Month serves as an important reminder of the value of caring for our emotional well-being. As we move into a busy and often demanding time of year, it is essential that we continue to check in with ourselves and with one another. We encourage all members of our community to prioritize balance, seek support when needed, and extend kindness and understanding to those around us.

May is also a critical academic period, marking the start of AP and IB testing and the approach of final exams. We encourage our students to stay focused, remain organized, and take advantage of the support available to them during this time.

Lastly, our seniors enjoyed a wonderful prom last week; it was truly a lovely and memorable event. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Martinez for her exceptional planning and dedication. I would also like to recognize and thank the faculty members who attended and supported our students at prom: Ms. Stompor, Ms. Paulus, Ms. Schaub, Ms. Parker, Dr. Wardsiani, Ms. Huels, Mr. Bokar, Mr. Olivares, Ms. Watt, and Mr. Mac. Your presence helped make the evening even more special for our students.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Warm regards,

Dr. Sanchez
