Dear Tiger Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. This week, your child will be bringing home results from two key assessments: the Middle of Year (MOY) reading and math assessments, as well as, the STAAR Interim Assessment for students in grades 3-5.
The STAAR Interim Assessment is designed to provide valuable insights into your child’s academic progress and readiness for the upcoming State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) tests. It gives us a snapshot of your child’s strengths and areas where additional support may be needed. These assessments, also, help students become familiar with the test format, reducing test anxiety and boosting their confidence ahead of the official STAAR exams.
In addition to sending home the results, teachers will be meeting individually with students to review their scores and set goals for continued growth. This personalized approach allows us to provide targeted support and ensure that each student is on track to succeed.
Please keep in mind that while the results from the STAAR Interim Assessment offer helpful information for our teachers to personalize instruction, they do not necessarily predict how your child will perform on the STAAR tests.
The 3-5 Math Interim will be on Wednesday March 5 - Your child's teacher will send out the math interim results as soon as we get those.
Important STAAR Assessment Dates for 2024-2025:
- April 9: 3rd, 4th, 5th Reading/Language Arts STAAR
- April 16: 5th Science STAAR
- April 23: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th Math STAAR
If you have any questions, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher. We are so proud of our students and we cannot wait to see how they continue to progress throughout the year and on the final STAAR.

Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians,
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for KINDERGARTEN G/T Screening via this Google form.
The Elementary Discovery Program is a cross-curricular thematic-based pullout program for students in grades K-5. Participating students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. To be identified as gifted and talented, each student must undergo a screening and selection process. Assessment opportunities are made available once per school year.
If you feel your child is a good candidate for the G/T screening process, please fill out the link below. The deadline to register is March 13 at 3 pm. More information about the program can be found on the Lake Travis ISD Gifted & Talented website.

No Worries! We can Replace SMART Tags
If your Tiger(s) lost part or all of the SMART Tag equipment, we are happy to replace them upon receipt of the cost to replace the missing or broken items. Just let our Receptionist, Mrs. Michelle Harper, know what needs to be replaced. She can accept payment by exact cash (sorry, we have zero change) or by check payable to WCHE. The price list is:
