A message from Skyline's administrative team regarding Sportsmanship
We are excited to share that this Wednesday our winter season officially kicks off with games and matches vs. AI Middle School. As most of you know, the winter season of athletics is one of the most exciting times of the school year. Our gymnasium is filled with energy, excitement and some of the most talented student-athletes in the district. Whether you are cheerleader, wrestler or basketball player, having the opportunity to represent Skyline is an unforgettable experience.
Skyline Middle School is dedicated to creating an environment that fosters not only athletic achievement but also values such as respect, fair play, and sportsmanship. This includes both student-athletes as well as spectators. We believe that these qualities are integral to the positive development of our athletes and contribute to a supportive atmosphere for all involved.
To maintain the integrity of our events and ensure a positive experience for everyone, we kindly remind all parents, guardians, and spectators of the importance of displaying sportsmanship at all times. Cheering for your team is encouraged, but we expect it to be done in a manner that respects the spirit of the game and the efforts of all participants.
In line with our commitment to sportsmanship, we want to make it clear that any parents or spectators who engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to verbal abuse, harassment, or disruptive behavior, will be asked to leave the gym.
Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants and fans. All parents, students, and guests must demonstrate positive sportsmanship at all times. Any fan who chooses not to do so will be removed from the gym and may be excluded from future games. Each game has multiple staff members present who are watching not only the action on the court but also the behavior of spectators.
An additional reminder that students are welcome to attend both home and away games. However, students must be accompanied by an adult. Unsupervised students will not be permitted into the gym to watch any basketball game or wrestling match. Transportation is also not provided to students at the conclusion of any games, so please plan accordingly.
We ask that all fans enter the gym ready to support our teams in a respectful and positive manner. Remember: no college coaches will be in attendance, so please keep expectations grounded and enjoy the experience for what it is—middle school athletics.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the high standards of sportsmanship that define our community. By working together, we can ensure that our events remain positive and enjoyable for everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing you here at "The Den"!
