Benton Weekly Update

This week students begin SBAC testing during their ELA classes. We want students to feel confident and prepared to do their individual best, and recommend they get a good night's sleep, have a nutritious breakfast to start their day, and get to school on time. During testing, students may not use any Smart devices. Phones will be powered off and kept in the students' backpacks, if they wear Smart watches, those will also need to be placed in the backpack (maybe leave them at home for the next 2 weeks?) Students may not wear Google glasses during testing or at school any time.

On Thursday before Spring Break, Ms. Lin's Advanced Choir students participated in the SCVA Choral Festival at Newport Beach. Congratulations to Benton's Advanced Choir for the Superior ranking!

Congratulations to Benton's Boys and Girls Softball teams. They concluded their undefeated season last week by winning the championship games against Hutchinson. Many thanks to our coaches Mr. Martinez and Mr. Estes, and to our student athletes. Well done and congratulations!

Bravo to Ms. Truesdell and the Benton Dance Students for a great Dance Show on Thursday and Friday nights last week. The dancers, choreography, and performances were fabulous!

Are you interested in trying out for the Cheer or Song teams? We are revamping our Cheer program for next year, adding a Song team, and both will be under the direction of Ms. Estrada and Ms. Truesdell. Information packets will be posted online and available in the school office later this week. Tryout clinics for Cheer & Song will be on Thursdays after school beginning April 23.

You can now purchase the 25-26 Benton Yearbook in the school office (cash or check payable to ASB) or on our Webstore. The Yearbook is produced by Benton students and is delivered the last week of school. It's important to purchase your yearbook in advance, as we only print the number of books we sell in advance. Don't miss out, secure your yearbook now!

The Benton School Site Council will meet at 3:30pm on Thursday, 4/30 in the Benton Conference Room. The SSC will update and review the Benton SPSA, the agenda is at this link: SSC Agenda for 4/30/26

8th Grade Students and Families, we have a newsletter curated just for you! The 8th Grade newsletter contains information specific to you, 8th Grade Students and Families, to help you make the most of 8th Grade, and to plan for the end of the year.

Our retro sweatshirts are available for purchase in the Benton office.

Parents, please help us by checking your student's outfit before they leave for school. If students are out of dress code, the students will be asked to change into P.E. clothes or a loaner shirt or shorts.
