Dear Coppergate Families,

As we step into March, we are excited for all that this month brings—longer days, warmer weather, and the much-anticipated Spring Break! We also take time to celebrate Women’s History Month, honoring the incredible contributions of women past and present who have shaped our world.

With just a few months left in the school year, we want to remind families of a few important updates regarding cell phones and attendance as we prepare for the final stretch.

📱 Cell Phone Policy Reminder
We have seen an increase in students violating the cell phone policy, and we need your help in reinforcing the rules at home. State statute requires all cell phones to be turned off and stored in backpacks during instructional hours (8:00 AM – 2:42 PM) at the elementary level.

🔹 1st Violation: The student will be reminded to turn off their phone and place it in their backpack.
🔹 2nd Violation: The teacher will collect the phone and return it to the student at the end of the school day.
🔹 3rd Violation & Beyond: The phone will be confiscated by administration, a behavior tracking incident will be entered into Synergy, and a parent will be required to pick up the device.
🔹 Repeated Violations: Continued infractions will result in disciplinary referrals and consequences, including In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) if necessary.

⏳ Attendance Matters!
As we count down to Spring Break, we are also counting down the seven weeks left until the PM3 testing window opens. These assessments are critical for student progress:

✅ PM3 Reading impacts promotion and retention for 3rd graders.
✅ PM3 results determine course placement for Rising 6th and 7th graders in Reading and Math.

Every day in school is an opportunity for growth—let’s finish the year strong with consistent attendance and focus!

Thank you for your partnership and support. Wishing all of our Coppergate families a wonderful March and a relaxing Spring Break (March 17th - 21st and Planning Day on March 24th)!

💙 Coppergate Leadership Team,

Principal Metz and Asst. Principal Sweet

Calendar Revision Calendar Revision

Last month, the school board approved a revised student calendar for 2024-2025 that would bring us into compliance with mandated school hours. Due to Winter Storm Enzo, it was necessary for the District to make up one school day.

Please note that Friday, April 11, is now an official school day. This was previously designated as Fair Day. The District will continue to communicate this calendar change through social media, robocalls, and Apptegy.
