Happy Sunday, McNair Astro Families!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students and school community. When schools and families work together, our scholars are better positioned for success both academically and socially.

At this time, you should be able to view your child's 9-week grades and conduct reports in Infinite Campus. We encourage you to review this information with your student. If you have any questions or concerns regarding academic performance, attendance, behavior, or overall progress, please contact the school to schedule a parent conference. We are committed to working collaboratively to support every scholar's success.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the 125 scholars who were inducted into the AVID Program this past week! This achievement reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence. We are proud of each of these students and look forward to seeing their continued growth and success.

In addition, we would like to recognize and celebrate outstanding members of our McNair Middle School family:

  • Ms. Charity Barnes, paraprofessional in Mrs. Miller’s AU Support Classroom, has been nominated as our District Paraprofessional of the Quarter for the exceptional relationships she has built with students and families. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to student success make a tremendous difference every day.
  • Ms. Deidre Hawkins, 8th Grade SEC Math Teacher, was recently recognized as a Math Ambassador, proudly representing McNair Middle School. We are grateful for her leadership and commitment to mathematics education.

We would also like to celebrate our scholars! More than 500 students earned satisfactory attendance status during the first nine weeks, meaning they attended school nearly every day and had no discipline infractions that disrupted their educational experience. This is an incredible accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work of our students, families, and staff. We look forward to recognizing and celebrating these students this fall.

Parents, please continue sending our scholars to school each day. We love them, we believe in them, and we need them here. Daily attendance matters and every day provides valuable opportunities for learning, connection, and growth.

As a reminder, students will participate in Remote Learning on November 3, 2026. Additional information regarding schedules and expectations will be communicated prior to that date.

Finally, we want to reiterate our commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Please remember that our school maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, vaping, fighting, and acts of violence. We encourage all students to make positive choices and to report any concerns to a trusted adult immediately.

Thank you again for your partnership and ongoing support. Together, we can continue creating a positive learning environment where all scholars thrive.

Warm regards,

Dr. Keenan Cameron
Principal
McNair Middle School

Parents/Guardians,

Please take a few moments to review the Student/Parent/Guardian Device Handbook with your child. The handbook outlines important expectations for the care, use, and responsibility of school-issued devices.

We also encourage families to consider purchasing device insurance. Device insurance can help reduce the financial burden associated with accidental damage, loss, or repair of student devices throughout the school year.

Ronald E. McNair Middle School's Personal Electronic Devices (PED) Policy

This school year, Ronald E. McNair Middle School is fully implementing the Fulton County Schools Personal Electronic Devices (PED) Policy. Under this policy, all personal electronic devices (PEDs), including but not limited to cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be powered off and stored in students' individually assigned lockers from 8:55 a.m. to 4:05 p.m.

This bell-to-bell PED policy is designed to support a focused learning environment, promote student well-being, and enhance school safety. Limited exceptions are available for students with documented IEP or Section 504 accommodations, verified medical needs, or approved instructional use.

Students who are found in violation of the PED policy will have their devices confiscated and submitted to Principal Cameron for safekeeping. Parents or guardians may retrieve confiscated devices between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Additionally, progressive disciplinary measures will be implemented, including mandatory parent conferences and increased

consequences for repeated violations.

We encourage all families to review the attached flyer for detailed information regarding policy expectations, approved exceptions, and disciplinary procedures. Thank you for your partnership in supporting a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
