7th & 8th Grade Elective Survey - In Class
This week, our counselors will be visiting the 7th and 8th grade classrooms to review elective options for the upcoming semester. Students will complete a survey where they will indicate their top choices for their 2nd semester elective. Elective options include:
- Creative Writing
- Intro to Spanish
- Family & Consumer Science
- Math Enrichment
- Beginning Art
- History of Sports
- Intro to Computer Coding
- Intermediate Computer Coding
- Visual Arts: Photography
- PE
- Media Arts
School Picture Make Up Day 📸
Students K-12 who did not have their picture taken in August can come to Odyssey High School any time between 8:30-2:00 on Friday, October 9.
📆 Quarter 1 Grades
Monday, October 5 - Last week of the Quarter assignments start out in Past Due - so students and parents can track grades as assignments are being completed
Friday, October 9 - Quarter 1 ends
Sunday, October 11 - Middle School teachers keep most assignments open until 6:00pm
Monday, October 12 - Make sure your student starts working on Quarter 2 assignments in Moodle
Wednesday, October 14 - Quarter 1 Grades will be posted in Infinite Campus
By Friday, October 16 - Quarter 1 Report Cards mailed home
Semester Awards 🏅
We are excited to celebrate our Middle School students for their hard work and accomplishments during the first semester! Semester 1 Awards will be handed out during students’ regularly scheduled class time the week of January 11–15.
Students will be recognized with certificates for the following achievements:
A Honor Roll – Straight A’s in every class for both Quarter 1 and Quarter 2
A/B Honor Roll – A’s and B’s in every class for both Quarter 1 and Quarter 2
Perfect Attendance – Students must attend all regularly scheduled class days or Friday make up day. Students may have no more than one tardy and one early checkout during the semester.
We look forward to recognizing our students and celebrating a great first semester!
Parent Moodle Classes
A live, 30- minute online class for all 6th grade parents and any 7th & 8th grade parents new to Odyssey Middle School. This helpful class teaches parents how to navigate Moodle to check grades, support their student and understand grading policies.

How to Join:
1. Log in to your child’s Odyssey Gmail account.
2. Go to meet.google.com.
3. Enter the code Moodle and click 'Join'.
Important Reminders
Reporting a Student Absence
A friendly reminder that you have 3 days to report a student's absence to absentms@odysseyk12.org. Please let us know as soon as possible when your student will be out due to illness or any other reason.
Math & Reading Intervention Groups
If your student is struggling with math or reading, we offer small-group support to help students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and make progress.
If you feel your student would benefit from participating in one of these groups, please reach out to the teachers listed below to get them scheduled:
