MASCO PAC
Class of 2032 is looking good in red! ❤️🤍 A HUGE thank you from the MASCO PAC to the incredible local businesses who sponsored our Class of 2032 shirts and helped bring them to life! We’re so grateful for your generosity and support of our students and the MASCO community. Please help us return the love by supporting the businesses that support our kids! ❤️
Counselor's Corner
September/October
On the first day of school, 7th grade students participated in a scavenger hunt finding their way to the school counseling office to meet their counselor. Each student identified one thing they were excited about for this school year.
Counselors visited 7th grade classrooms to explain the role of the counselor, when and how to access the counselor, and why a student may need or want to talk with a counselor. Students also participated in a grade wide presentation: The Organized Student to review organizational strategies to help with the transition to middle school. Teams will follow-up with a more detailed presentation on organizational strategies specifically relating to their day, materials and school work.
Counselors will also start meeting with all of the 7th graders in a small group to check-in regarding the transition into middle school.
This fall, the School Counseling Department will present a three-part curriculum on Mindfulness to our seventh-graders. Mr. Beardsell will meet with each team during M Block in the auditorium to present on the following topics: What is Mindfulness, the Stress of Middle School, Stress vs. Anxiety, and Coping Strategies to Manage the Middle School Experience, and the power of laughter.
Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School will be visiting Masconomet to present their offerings as a high school. If families are interested in a vocational option for their students, please visit Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School
Xello:
This fall and winter, the 8 Red team will use Xello, an interactive career exploration program, during M Blocks. Students will explore their interests, strengths, skills, and potential career pathways while learning more about the connection between their interests and future opportunities. Through guided activities and self-reflection, Xello will help students begin thinking about their goals and making connections between who they are today and the possibilities that lie ahead for the future.
