Mary Smith, President of the Athletic Boosters for 16 years - Thank You!
We give huge kudos to Mary Smith, outgoing President of the Princeton Athletic Boosters, for 16 years of leadership and support of the Boosters Program!!
Fundraising is an important part of our programs. The Princeton Athletic Boosters strive to support each student-athlete and program.
While each sport has the opportunity to raise direct funds for its programs, it is the overall function of our Athletic Boosters to support all programs. With action items such as coordinating the senior gifts for each season and hosting special events, the Athletic Boosters also sponsor the refreshments for each of our Honors Programs.
We are going to greatly miss the leadership of Mary Smith! She is a #DifferenceMaker!

Steve Shuck Sportsmanship Awards
Steve Shuck worked 36 years in the Princeton City School District as a teacher, coach, and Assistant Athletic Director. After retiring from Princeton, Mr. Shuck became the Commissioner of the Greater Miami Conference, a position he held for another 26 years. Some of us still remember waiting for the “Shuck Report” to come out as the Coach would give an in-depth analysis and prediction of the OHSAA Football Playoff scale. This summer, Steve retired from that position. The Athletic Directors in the GMC unanimously voted to create the Steve Shuck Sportsmanship Award to be presented by each school to student-athletes who exemplify good sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity.
Winners of the Steve Shuck Sportsmanship Awards are:
BASEBALL: ROBERT BLOOM
LACROSSE: AUBRIE COLE
SOFTBALL: PAYTON STRICKLEY
BOYS TENNIS: DJ HALL
BOYS TRACK & FIELD: BRENDAN BRADDIX
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD: OLIVIA KENNY
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: ERICK DORSEY (not pictured)
Viking Award Winners
In Memoriam of Jovante Woods
As we honor our Viking Award winners, we would like to share a bit of history about this special award. In 2010, it was dedicated to the memory of one of our fallen Vikings, Jovante Woods.
Jovante was a beloved member of both the Football and Track Teams. Tragically, on August 11, 2010, Jovante suffered a fatal asthma attack and passed away on August 14. Despite this loss, his legacy lives on through his selflessness—Jovante had just received his driver's license and had become an organ and tissue donor, saving the lives of several others.
Jovante was known for his constant smile, hard work, and positive attitude. He maintained an impressive 3.8 GPA and was a true representative of VikeNation, both on the playing field and among friends.
We remember and honor Jovante Woods with this award, celebrating his life and the impact he made on everyone around him.
Our Viking Award recipients for the Spring are:
BASEBALL: Grayson Wolf
LACROSSE: Brooke Barry
SOFTBALL: Payton Strickley
BOYS TENNIS: Leo Schmahl
BOYS TRACK & FIELD: Declan McGrath
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD: Lauren Burns
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Jai’Von Akins-Walker
