Registration for Kindergarten and Pre Kindergarten NOW OPEN!

Survey Now Open: We Want to Hear About Your MCPS Experience
Survey Now Open:
We Want to Hear About Your MCPS Experience
MCPS invites staff, families and community members to share your experiences and perspectives through our annual survey, open April 20–May 10.
In the past, this was called the “School Culture and Climate Survey,” but it’s not about the weather. It’s about your experience in our schools and how we can make them better.
When we hear from you it helps us make our schools better—for you. With just 10 minutes of your time, you will share with us what’s working well and where we can improve, from academics and communication to the overall school experience. It also helps us ensure our schools are well-supported and that students are ready to learn.

New this year: No student ID required!
To make participation easier, you can now self-identify—no student ID needed. All responses remain confidential.
Responses will be reviewed in aggregate by school and district leaders to better understand student and family experiences and to guide planning and decision-making for the upcoming school year.
Parent Square

We are excited to share that MCPS is transitioning to using ParentSquare to engage the district, school administrators and now even teachers with ongoing school-to-home communication. Using ParentSquare you'll be able to receive and send messages in any translated language preferred, set your preference to receive them as a text, email or app notification, set a preference for when you want to receive messages, instantly or as a daily digest, send RSVPs to school events and sign up to volunteer and/or donate items at events as well. During this transition we will cease our use of the Remind application for school-to-home communication.
ParentSquare accounts have been created for all teachers, school administrators and staff and caregivers. Your preferred language to receive and send communication may already be set in ParentSquare. If it’s not, you can select your preferred language while logged into your ParentSquare account using the website or app.

Food Resources
We are here to help families in our community.
Please reach out to the main office if you are in need of food assistance, help applying for WIC or SNAP, or are experiencing a food emergency. We are happy to connect you with resources in our community.
Weekend Bags
Rolling Terrace Elementary School is proud to announce our partnership with MANNA to provide weekend food bags to our families. MANNA is a nonprofit organization that fights hunger in Montgomery County by providing food. This weekly food support provides an assortment of shelf-stable items to supplement a household’s food supply on Saturday and Sunday when school meals are unavailable. Food provided in each bag will include items that rotate such as pasta, rice, beans, oatmeal, shelf-stable milk, canned fruit, canned vegetables, and/or tuna.
To participate in the MANNA Weekend Bag program parents/guardians must register their families by filling out the registration form. Paper registration forms will be sent home in children's backpacks. Although we will be working with an outside agency for this program, we assure you that your family’s privacy will be protected. No identifying information will be shared, and families will be kept in strictest confidence within Rolling Terrace.
Distribution will be every Friday and each family will receive one bag of food, which will be delivered to a student in their classroom. If you have any questions please contact Ana Diaz or Anne Koroknay at (240) 740-1950.
