Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope today finds you and your family well as the school year moves into February.
First of all, I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding as we navigated some difficult weather conditions and brutal cold this past month. We know that it has presented challenges for all of us. I have to share my thanks and appreciation for our Operations and Facilities Teams, who have worked very hard in tough conditions to get our schools ready and open for our students, who, I think we all would agree, should always be in school as much as possible.
As of this writing and release, we still have one unused "Snow Day." After that, we will move to Remote Instruction if deemed necessary, but remember to always follow our Communication Portals for updates and information.
Keeping with this theme of gratitude and appreciation, we had a couple of recent examples that demonstrate the outstanding staff we have at BTSD and how much they care about the community. As we navigated a tragedy at a local nursing home on the day prior to winter break, we were asked by local officials to make Truman High School available as an Operations Center, and I have to give a shout out to so many of our school community members who rushed over there to get it ready and make it happen. That includes Operations Manager Mr. Cox, Security Coordinator Luke Miller, District Health Coordinator Regina Jones and our nurses, the entire Truman High School administration team and even School Board President Mr. Morgan, who stepped up to help out in this time of need. We received many compliments and accolades about the professionalism and willingness of our team to help out during this local emergency from many of those involved.
On to the good news! Our January Smore highlights School Board Appreciation Month and tells the tale of the Franklin Cleaning Crew "Saving the Day." Truman Drama's "Beetlejuice" tickets are on sale, and we encourage you to spread the word about the upcoming Kindergarten registration.
Please enjoy this month's newsletter!
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti

Franklin Cleaning Crew Saves the Day!
A crisis unfolded in the late evening hours of December 16.
Although it should be acknowledged that this was the type of deeply personal household crisis that almost every family can unfortunately relate to.
After Heather Anderson’s mother picked her up from work—having just taken the children to the Franklin Middle School choral concert—Anderson discovered that her two-year-old son Ollie’s beloved stuffed animal, Wally, had been left behind in the auditorium.

Kindergarten Registration Begins March 3
Round Up at the Register
Through March 31 at the Levittown Giant (4001 New Falls Rd.)
BTSD is once again proud to be part of the GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our school district’s efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger.
Through this initiative, BTSD and other public school districts can use funds to support meal programs to expand food distribution programs, create on-campus food pantries and gardens, supply extra weekend meals, and eliminate outstanding student meal debt.
Through last year's program, BTSD received $8,071.21 for our food service department. Let's raise even more in 2026!
