Principals Message
Panther Families,
We have a fun filled week with Awards this week. We will have the outdoor Card My Yard Sign up Monday-Thursday for you to take pictures with your panthers in front of the school. The 5th grade sign will be up only on Tuesday, May 28th. Please ensure to bring your ID for the awards ceremony this week so you may check out your child after the awards.
Awards
We are excited to celebrate the end of year awards with our panthers and our panther community. We do ask that you limit guests to 3 per student so that we may all fit in the gym comfortably. We also ask that any balloons be brought on weights so you may leave them on the side of the bleachers to not block the view of the people above you taking pictures.
Technology Fees
Attention Parents and Guardians! If your child has a technology fee for a damaged device or broken charger, please ensure that fines are cleared before the May 22nd. Students with pending fines will not be allowed to participate in end of year events. Please login to skyward to pay the fees online. You may also call and setup an appointment with Ms. Ayon for payment. Appointments will be from 7am to 12pm. Please do not send money with your child.
Behavior Expectations
We continue to ask for support regarding behavior. We are starting to experience an uptick in behaviors. As a reminder, students receiving discipline referrals will not be allowed to participate in end of year events, including field trips, class party day, and Field Day. Our students understand the expectations, so anything less is unacceptable. We look forward to a smooth end of the year.
Attendance
Awesome Attendance can't happen without our awesome parent support! Want to be featured in our weekly newsletter? These panthers had perfect attendance and are featured below! Thank you, Panther Families, for helping us reach out 98% goal!
Last Day of School
As a reminder, the last day of school is May 29th. We will have early release on that day. More information will be shared as we approach the date.

Attendance Information & Social Media
Hello Parents and Caregivers,
The end of the year is almost here! Here is some important information for you to know:
Attendance Matters
We'd like to remind everyone of the importance of excellent attendance. Attending school is extremely important for children’s social, emotional and educational development. Children who miss a lot of time at school can suffer in the long term from significant gaps in their learning. We need your support to ensure that children’s education is not affected. Send your child to school every day, all day to get the most out of their education.
Important Times:
7:20 a.m. Arrival
7:20 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. Breakfast & Announcements
7:30 a.m. Instruction Begins
3:00 p.m. Dismissal
Intersession
Parents, Summer Intersession begins for select students on Monday, June 3 at 7:30am. This will be a GREAT opportunity for your child to receive additional support in the content areas of Reading and Math. If your child receives a permission slip, please ensure you sign and return it to their teacher. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
Cell Phone Policy
Hello parents, we understand and appreciate your right to provide a cell phone to your child, however, please note that per the Clint ISD Student Code of Conduct (page 15), the following offenses are prohibited at school or school related activities and may be result in disciplinary action.
Displaying, turning on, or using of telecommunication devices on school property during regular school day such as: cellular phones, pagers, beepers, stereo headsets, cassette players, CD players, Play Station Players, MP3s, I-Pods, cameras or any other electronic device.
Article will be confiscated from student.
If an item is confiscated, we will follow the Clint ISD Student Handbook (page 50).
If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated.
The parent/student has 30 calendar days from the day of confiscation to retrieve the device and pay a fee of $15 to the campus.
- Devices not claimed within 30 days will be destroyed.
Social Media Awareness
Nowadays, many students have a social media account of some type, whether it be TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc. While we know you, as parents, have the ultimate decision in granting them this permission, we just wanted to share some safety reminders and age limits for having accounts.
Sometimes kids don't always make the best choices when they decide to post on a site which could lead to potential problems such as:
cyberbullying
privacy & safety concerns
risks to their reputation
mental health issues
viewing of inappropriate or harmful content
time drain
Please click on the following link to gain more insight and for tips on what you can do as a parent to guide your child.

Library News
ALL library books were due on May 3, 2024. Please look for any missing books and return them to the library as soon as possible.
As the end of the school year approaches, you may get notification that your child owes money for damaged chromebooks and/or a lost or damaged charger. I will start picking up chromebooks the week of May 13-17. You will be notified if your child owes money for a damaged device and the fee will be added to Skyward. Here are the current prices for all damages:
Please note that all chromebook fees (for damaged devices and the yearly usage fee) need to be PAID by May 22 in order for your child to participate in Field Day. We are asking that you log in to Skyward Family Access when you receive the paper notification about the cost to repair the device, and pay the fee online. It's always a good idea to print out your receipt or take a screenshot of the receipt, just in case. Please DO NOT send money to school with your child. If you are unable to pay the chromebook fees online, you will need to call the school to set up an appointment with Ms. Ayon. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this!
Please note that all lost library books will need to be returned or paid for by May 22 in order for your child to participate in Field Day. Library books can't be paid for online, so please either email (suzanne.ritchey@clint.net) or call the school to make arrangements with Mrs. Ritchey to take care of the book payment. Thank you!
