APEDA Facilitates First Commercial Sea Shipment of Premium Banganapalle Mangoes from India to Singapore

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH), has successfully facilitated the first commercial sea shipment of premium Banganapalle mangoes from India to Singapore. The consignment, comprising 5 metric tonnes (MT) of mangoes, was exported by Osum Food Solutions LLP on June 11, 2026, and arrived in Singapore on June 24, 2026. Sourced from Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)-certified orchards in Andhra Pradesh and processed at an APEDA-recognised packhouse in Karnataka, the shipment complied with Singapore's quality and phytosanitary standards

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has proposed a historic 'Sister City Agreement' between Bengaluru and Lima, the capital of Peru, aimed at deepening cooperation in trade, education, innovation, healthcare, and culture, officials said on Monday. This is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with the Republic of Peru, they said. According to an official statement, the proposal was made while addressing a high-level diplomatic reception held in Bengaluru on June 28, to commemorate the 205th Independence Day of the Republic of Peru and celebrate 63 years of diplomatic relations between India and Peru.

Taiwanese majors eye South Tamil Nadu for expansion and new projects

A delegation comprising around 10 Taiwanese companies, primarily from the manufacturing sectors such as electronics, are currently on a tour of the business ecosystem and infrastructure facilities in South Tamil Nadu districts of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi as Taiwan looks to deepen its association with the State. The International Council for Innovators and Entrepreneurs has launched Explore2Expand Taiwan, a global delegation initiative scheduled from July 29 to August 2, 2026, to connect entrepreneurs, startups, investors and researchers with Taiwan's technology, innovation and academic ecosystem for international collaboration.
