Eagle Update

With not having students on Monday or Tuesday, it was a strange start to welcome kids back on a Wednesday! I know that I needed several reminders as to which day it was when we greeted students!

We are looking to hire three caring, committed individuals to join our school team as High Impact Tutors — no experience required! Two positions are available from 1:00–2:15 p.m., and one from 10:15 - 11:45 is also open. There will be training and ongoing support to our tutors. These positions are scheduled to begin in January 2026 and run through the 26-27 school year. This is a rewarding role for anyone who enjoys working with children and is interested in contributing to a positive learning environment. Join our team and help make a lasting impact at Archer Glen! Next week, MudPuddles will be donating proceeds from any purchases back to our school. If you mention Archer Glen at checkout, they will donate 20% of the purchase back to our school. Additionally, Mudpuddles is excited to host a private shopping event exclusively for Archer Glen families on Thursday, November 20th, from 9:00 to 10:00 am! Enjoy complimentary donuts and coffee while you shop.

Also on Thursday, November 20, we will be holding a Movie Night fundraiser for the Morad family. Admission to Cars will be free and concessions will be available for purchase using cash or Venmo. Please note: all children must be accompanied by an adult for the full event. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and/or low chairs for watching the movie. Doors will open at 5:30 and the movie will begin at 6:00.

Trimester 1 will be wrapping up next Thursday! Just as a reminder, there is no school on Friday, November 21, to allow teachers to prepare progress reports. This trimester has included some amazing learning opportunities and fun activities for students and teachers. We have a lot more planned for the school year - we are just getting started!

• Weekly food pantry: Tuesday 4-6pm / Saturday 9-11am

Sherwood YMCA Community Pantry – 23000 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood

• Weekly food pantry: Wednesdays 10am-12pm

Helping Hands Food Pantry – 15520 SW Willamette St, Sherwood

• Monthly food pantry: 3rd Saturday of the month 9-10am

• Backpack weekend meals program for students

• Information and referrals for food, clothing, counseling, medical, healthy child development, preschool and housing.

Sherwood School District Meal Program

All students who qualify for Oregon SNAP, FDPIR or Oregon TANF automatically receive free breakfast and lunch every school day through our district meal program. Foster children and children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway or migrant are eligible for no cost meals. Please email nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us for more information.

Families can apply for the district meal program by completing an online application or by submitting a paper application at your student’s school. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out at nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.

Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).

ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!
