- Feel unsafe at school or at home.
- Need help working through a problem involving school, friendships, or family.
- Simply need someone to listen and support you.
- Have questions or concerns about your class schedule.
- Need assistance with academic planning or goal setting.
How Can You Reach Your Counselor?
There are several ways to connect with us:
- Talk with your teacher.
- Send your counselor an email.
- Reach out to your Family Engagement Liaison (FEL).
- Ask your parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.
Remember, you are never alone. Your school counselors are here to listen, support, and help you succeed!
PERSONALIZED LEARNING SESSIONS (THRIVE 55)
Beginning August 11, we will begin our Thrive 55 school counseling sessions on the 2nd and 3rd week of each month during your Personalized Learning (4th Period) time.
You will meet with your counselor one day during each of those weeks. On the day of your meeting, you'll see a link on your schedule to join us.
We look forward to connecting with you and having a great year together! 😊
MEET YOUR MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER
Ms. Leigh Williams
Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Williams, and I’m super excited to be the MGB School Social Worker this year at Georgia Cyber Academy. Before joining this awesome team, I worked as the Crisis Social Worker for Atlanta Public Schools, helping students through tough times and making sure they had the support they needed.
When I’m not working, I love watching sports—especially Women’s Basketball. I’m a big fan of the Atlanta Dream (GO DREAM!). I also share my home with two silly dogs, Micah and Finn. They spend most of their time taking naps or chasing the opossum that sneaks into our backyard (don’t worry, they never catch it!).
I’m here to support you, listen, and help you be your best self, so don’t be shy, say hi!

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
OCTOBER 4-9, 2026
Champions, it's Fire Prevention Week! Join us for a week of daily fire safety activities you can do with your family at home.
Since 1922, the NFPA has sponsored the public observance of Fire Prevention Week. In
1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national
observance, making it the longest-running public health observance in our country.
During Fire Prevention Week, children, adults, and teachers learn how to stay safe in
case of a fire. Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically
decrease casualties caused by fires.
CYBERBULLYING PREVENTION WEEK
OCTOBER 12-16, 2026
Cyberbullying takes place electronically. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media, text messages, chat, and websites. Join us this October in bringing awareness and stopping cyberbullying.
RED RIBBON WEEK
OCTOBER 26-30
Red Ribbon Week is a time to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and vaping and encourage students to make healthy, positive choices. For middle school students, it’s an opportunity to learn how substance use can affect their health, friendships, goals, and future. This year’s theme, “Be a Hero,” reminds us that being a hero means having the courage to stand up for yourself, make smart decisions, resist peer pressure, and encourage others to do the same. Remember, real heroes make healthy choices and take charge of their future!
REAL HEROS MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES!
Every hero has the power to make a difference and that includes YOU! Join Georgia Cyber Academy as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week! This year's theme, BE A HERO, reminds us that real heroes make healthy choices, stand up for themselves and others, and choose a drug-free future
