Panther Press of Wild Rose
January 9, 2026
Note from Mrs. Solomon and Mrs. Salto
Welcome back! Happy New Year! it is so great to see our students, staff and families! After winter break, so many students seem to change and look just a little more mature than they did before they left.
We had awesome support for Football Friday!!! If you are able please support our Student Council's efforts for Soup for the Super Bowl starting next week!
A couple of reminders for the new year..
- Please remember to be courteous to our community for arrival and dismissal
- Park on only one side of the road
- Use the carpool lane when you are driving
- Be cautious and careful when you are driving to mind the pedestrians that are walking
- Follow the use of stop signs
- Be patient
We started a focus group with 4th and 5th grade students today to help us get feedback from some of our student body to help improve Wild Rose. We hope to work together to continue to make Wild Rose better and a great place for students to learn and achieve.
Our new logo is being rolled out! We will have a more specific announcement in next week's Panther Press.
It is wonderful to have school back in session after the winter break and we are looking forward to a great winter and spring!

ATTENDANCE POLICY UPDATES
D303 Attendance Procedures Update
District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.
Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.
NEW VACATION POLICY:
The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use
Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences
This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students
We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.
Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
