Dragon News
McKelvey Primary
September 17, 2026
McKelvey Primary Families,
Our students have had a great first few weeks of school. Each morning, we call out Braggin' Dragons. This is recognition for someone who goes above and beyond in showing our core values- kind, safe, problem-solvers, and teammates. Each month, I plan on posting the pictures on our Facebook page to show off our amazing Dragons! WEAR PURPLE TOMORROW TO SUPPORT OUR PARKWAY NORTH VIKINGS!
There is TONS of important information in this newsletter:
- The upcoming PTO meeting will have important information about Prop P from the district
- Fall Fun Day/Boosterthon Color Run Information
- Information on Social/Emotional and Academic Learning happening here at McKP!
If you plan on volunteering to go on a field trip or help students at other school events, please be sure to register to volunteer. You must be an approved volunteer. Click HERE for volunteer information.
If you think you may qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, please check out the information towards the bottom of this newsletter. The application must be filled out every year.

Social Stories
At school, we are continually helping students build important social, emotional, and behavioral skills that support their success in the classroom and beyond. Social stories are short, simple stories designed to help children understand and practice specific skills.
When children hear consistent messages and use similar language across both home and school, it helps them better understand, remember, and apply the skills they are practicing.
Our Shared Goal
To give children the tools, language, and practice they need to grow. Home and school are strongest when we work together.
Thank you for partnering with us!
