Effective data-driven conversations require intentional facilitation to ensure a safe and supportive environment where educators can engage in conversations around student data, identify patterns that are emerging in that data, identify where change is needed, and develop action plans for next steps. As an educator or leader, how can you create a culture that is responsive to data conversations? How can you facilitate effective conversations around data?

See how easy it is use teamwork and pairs to create a greater level of engagement than you imagined possible, even for your reluctant learners. We're not talking about group work. We're talking the real deal, and knowing the difference is the difference between engaging some and engaging all students. When we engage all students, they all learn more. Students who work together get to know and like each other better which reduces discipline problems, bullying, and violence.
Come learn easy ways to use Kagan Structures as a part of every lesson, creating greater engagement, deeper understanding of the content, improved retention, and greater liking for class and content. This training will help each school counselor set up their 2023-2024 comprehensive school counseling program up for success! Together, we will not only talk about pieces of the comprehensive school counseling program, but we will take time during the day to apply it to our own building needs.
TOGETHER WE WILL:
- Analyze building/district data (attendance/discipline/grades)
- Design program goals that tie into your building/district
- Create your annual calendar. You are already doing amazing things! Let's document it and check for gaps
- Compose a purposeful administrator/counselor conference
- Brainstorm how to purposefully build in time to maintain the CSCP throughout the year
- Access additional information and resources
Participants need to bring a laptop or other e-device. Each participant needs access to their own building's attendance/discipline/grades data. They can print off this information ahead of time or make sure they know how to access it in their student information system (SIS).
