A Word From Our Principal
A Prayer for Seasonal Change
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the beautiful change of seasons and for the many blessings You have given us. As the leaves change colors, the air becomes cooler, and the farmers gather their harvest, help us to recognize Your presence in the beauty of the world around us.
Lord, just as the seasons change, we ask You to help us make changes in our own hearts. May we continue to grow in our relationship with You, becoming stronger disciples of Christ each day. Help us to share the Good News through our words, our actions, and the love we show to others.
May we always remember that You are present in our homes, our school, our community, and throughout our land. Guide us to be examples of Your goodness, kindness, and compassion so that others may see Christ living within us.
And Lord, may we live our lives in such a way that, as the song reminds us, "They'll know we are Christians by our love."
Amen.
Thank You, GACC Families!
A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents for making Parent-Teacher Conferences such a success! We had an outstanding 96% turnout! This is something to celebrate!
One of the most important factors in a child's education is the partnership between parents and teachers. When we work together, communicate openly, and support one another, wonderful things happen for our students.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to visit with your child's teachers, celebrate successes, and discuss ways we can continue to help your child grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We are truly blessed to have such supportive families at GACC!
Thank You, SPA!
Our Supportive Parents Association (SPA) continues to bring smiles to the faces of our students!
Last Friday, SPA treated our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students to a fun-filled movie afternoon. Although the original plan was to spend the afternoon at the park, Mother Nature had other ideas! Thank you to SPA for being flexible, switching gears, and making the afternoon such an enjoyable experience for our youngest Bluejays.
The fun doesn't stop there! SPA will be treating our 2nd–6th Grade students to an afternoon of bowling this week and next week. What a wonderful opportunity for our students to enjoy time together outside the classroom!
Please check the Dates to Know section below for additional information.
We are so grateful for our SPA parents and all they do to make GACC a special place for our children. Your time, generosity, and dedication do not go unnoticed!
Changing Weather — Time to Bundle Up!
Fall is definitely in the air, and those chilly mornings are reminding us that winter isn't too far away!
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the colder weather. It can be especially cool before school and during morning recess. Hats, gloves, and warm coats are becoming necessities! We want our students to be comfortable and ready to enjoy their time outdoors.
A reminder about our school dress code:
October 30th is the last day students may wear shorts, beginning November 2nd:
- Boys must wear navy pants.
- Girls must wear navy pants or plain black or navy leggings with their skirts and jumpers.
Thank you for helping us keep our Bluejays warm and ready for the changing seasons!
Boys Town Social Skills — Growing Together!
Our students continue to work on developing important social skills through our Boys Town Social Skills program.
Please continue to review and practice the first four skills we have introduced. These skills are not only important in the classroom but are valuable life skills that help children build positive relationships with others.
We will now be introducing two additional skills:
Accepting Criticism or Feedback — Learning to listen when someone offers suggestions or corrections, responding respectfully, and using that feedback to improve.
Accepting Help or Assistance — Understanding that everyone needs help sometimes and learning to accept assistance graciously and respectfully.
These are wonderful skills to practice at home as well! Sometimes accepting correction or allowing someone to help us can be difficult, even for adults. By working together, we can help our children understand that feedback and assistance are opportunities to learn and grow.
Thank you for reinforcing these important skills at home!
Planning Ahead — Grandparents' Mass
We are excited to invite our grandparents to a very special celebration at GACC!
Grandparents' Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 25, at 10:30 a.m.
Grandparents hold such a special place in the hearts of our children and families. What a blessing it will be to gather together in prayer and celebrate the love, wisdom, and faith they share with their grandchildren.
All students will be dismissed at the conclusion of Mass. (approximately 11:30 AM) Grandparents are then invited to take their grandchildren to the gym to enjoy cookies and visit our Book Fair together.
We look forward to this special day and the opportunity to celebrate our wonderful GACC grandparents!
PS/PK/ECEC will NOT have school this day.
God Bless Our GACC Families
God bless your family, and enjoy all the wonderful fall festivities!
Blessings,
Joyce Stalp
