Every Voice, Every Heart, Every Day

Last week, we held our first C-3 (Cultural Climate Committee) meeting of the school year. The team began planning next steps based on results from last year’s survey. C-3 meets on the first Friday of each month, and all are welcome—if you’re interested in joining, we’d love to have you.

On Friday afternoon, we also held our first all-school meeting with the help of our new Student Council. Their enthusiasm set a wonderful tone for the year ahead! Be sure to check out more information below about the Sanborn play, coming at the end of January.

This week, we’ll have our first early release day on Wednesday. Dismissal is at 12:15 p.m. for all students. Students who wish to eat lunch at school must order ahead of time. Families may also choose to enjoy lunch together at home after dismissal. Please note that your child’s teacher will follow the usual Wednesday dismissal plan unless you update it in PickUp Patrol.

I hope everyone had an opportunity to enjoy the summer like weather this weekend!

Fall DIBELS (Grades 1–5) & Reading/Math MAP Growth (Grades 3–5)

On October 10, 2025, parents and guardians will receive Family Reports that summarize your child’s beginning-of-the-year assessments. These reports will be sent home with your child.

  • DIBELS (Grades 1–5): A literacy screener that helps us understand your child’s reading development and guide instruction.
  • MAP Growth (Grades 3–5): An adaptive assessment in reading and math that shows your child’s current learning level and growth over time.

For more information:

  • MAP Growth: NWEA Family Toolkit or Andover Public Schools MAP Assessment
  • DIBELS: Andover Public Schools mCLASS Literacy Assessments

These beginning-of-the-year results help teachers inform instruction, personalize learning, and monitor the growth of individual students. Administrators use the data to assess performance and progress at each grade level, school, and district. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or principal.
