📣 Happening This Week:
Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a restful Memorial Day break.
Can you believe it...June begins this Sunday, and we're really getting down to the wire for the school year.
Next week is a big one for our upperclassmen:
- Tuesday: Juniors and seniors will participate in a pre-prom assembly.
- Wednesday: Our seniors have a full morning with their breakfast, yearbook distribution, and cap and gown distribution.
A quick reminder students attending the prom must be in school on time on Wednesday. There will be no senior sign-in on the day of prom.
Early Dismissal and Absences:
On Wednesday, juniors and seniors with lunch privileges will be allowed to leave at the beginning of their lunch period. Underclassmen who need to leave early for prom must be signed out by a parent or guardian after 12PM.
Please remember that while the afternoon of June 4th (the day of the prom) is an excused absence for juniors and seniors, any other absences next week are unexcused. All students are expected to be in school for the remainder of the week.
Orange Invitational
What an incredible Orange Invitational we had! A huge thank you to Mr. Vanderhorn for his outstanding work in making this event such an amazing success. We're thrilled to announce that all proceeds went to Tackle Kids Cancer, supporting a truly vital cause.
STEM Product Design
The students in the STEAM Product Design class presented an investor sales pitch for their product to members of the DECA club who played the role of potential investors. This was conducted in a style similar to the show Shark Tank, where the inventor's goal is to convince the Sharks to invest in their product. The Sharks scrutinize the marketability of the product, analyse the forecast numbers, and ask probing questions.
The student designed product inventions include:
- An electric shock system for negative reinforcement behavior modification
- A 2 factor authentication anti-theft system for automobiles
- An automobile seat gap filler with a cell phone holder and built-in charger
- A wallet with an integrated battery to charge phones, earpods, etc.
- A storage system to neatly stowe cables, chargers, etc
- A hook device to allow less abled people to open doors, etc
- An alarm that attaches to a phone to detect theft and/or tampering
